#Spearmaster, master of spears || Completed Survivor, Artificer, Gourmand, & Rivulet

I have completed the Survivor, my first campaign, not long ago and it was extremely fun. It truly felt like the game wasn't a problem, I just needed to get better, and that's what made it fun. However when I started Artificer and Gourmand, it just feels like all my skills don't matter since the game is now the issue, and no matter what I do, using every technique I know, I just can't make it far past the starting points/areas.

#

With Artificer, there are multiple scavengers. Each one with spear-aimbot installed which kill you with one throw. And the slugcat with explosive abilities gets knocked down by an explosive rock that they themself, have created.

#

With Gourmand, I feel much limited by my movement, which on Survivor, allowed me to maximise the potential of my skills (evading, fighting, traversal). This allows enemies to get me much easier.

stray rampart
#

both of these scugs give you a lot of special movement capabilities or other things in general that should aid in your gameplay
If it helps, try not to compare them with survivor/monk as they offer completely different experiences due to their nature

#

biggest tip for gourmand I can give is whenever your eyes close stand still until they open again, you will recover from exhaustion a lot quicker that way

#

Artificer is a lot of trial and error. It may feel like you’re getting no where but keep pushing through and you will make it!! You can also always try taking a different route if one is too difficult

plucky grove
plucky grove
#

I'm decent and using the movement mechanic for Arti, but when it comes to scavengers, WHY do they have aimbot...

stray rampart
#

Did you try exploring to the right? hunterglee

Shaded Citadel

#

my least favourite area

#

made my way to a gate and couldn't cross it

#

so I just reset my game back to the start

stray rampart
#

you dont need to reset for that

#

the gate is able to be crossed, you may need to think outside the box

plucky grove
#

But it's not worth going to "shoreline"

#

because there isn't a shoreline anymore

#

from what i've heard from a friend

stray rampart
#

you should tell your friend not to spoil you on the regions

#

none of them arent worth going to

plucky grove
#

Gourmand on the other hand, I'm making progress

dim trellis
#

glad to see you're getting somewhere in gourmand at least gourmapproves

#

artificer's abilities may come in handy when it comes to dealing with those scavengers though

#

but it definitely isn't an easy campaign articry

#

Meeting Five Pebbles as Gourmand

#

Didn't say much, just told me to fuck off

plucky grove
#

Managed to make it to another shelter as Artificer

#

Since I'm past the scavenger toll, I don't have to worry about dying to them over and over.

#

The main problem is finding scavs to eat

#

Or anything that doesn't fill only a quarter of one hunger

twin elm
#

There's a metric ton of animals in garbagewastes to eat from hunterbarrage

twin elm
#

And no, shoreline is not worthless to explore in any form either; no region is. Avoid intaking spoilers from friends, and travel to places based on your own exploratory compass

stray rampart
#

I would recommend you explore it

plucky grove
#

Making my way back

#

so I can go to citadel

#

because I completely forgot that's how I get to Five Pebbles, which could be useful

plucky grove
#

Had to log off

#

But I'm stuck at the scav toll area again

#

The starting one

#

Except this time it's left to right that I need to go

#

(Artificer)

#

As for Gourmand, I am at the Sky Islands gate

#

I did explore there for quite a while

#

But I ran out of karma

#

And now I can't pass the gate

#

And returning, I don't see any food or any easy way back

stray rampart
#

you can explore elsewhere in whichever region you are in and come back later

plucky grove
#

I'm making more progress in Gourmand than Artificer

#

in fact, I have made 0 progress in Artificer

#

and Gourmand is actually quite fun

plucky grove
#

I got enough practice and next time I should be able to make it to the next shelter

#

and after that, I'm gonna make my way to the Farm Arrays gate

hmm. well how to get a friend im not sure myself.. maybe i might be able to play at some point
but how to play with friends i do!
in the main menu of Rainworld theres Remix and if you go there you can enable jolly coop. and then before you start a campaign you will be able to see the jolly coop button at the top right. to where you can change your colors and the difficulty. and setup the controllers

twin elm
#

Jolly coop only works as local multiplayer (you need a real friend in-person to hook up controller to the same device)

#

But you can use Steam Remote Share to be able to play with online friends

#

Or mods

stray rampart
#

I wouldn’t really recommend playing multiplayer until after you complete the given campaign on your own

plucky grove
#

Alright so I had a bit of a break

#

With Gourmand, I haven't made any progress (not because i'm stuck but because I haven't played him within these days)
With Artificer, I managed to make my way to the shelter in the exterior before the bottom gate of Five Pebbles

plucky grove
#

I can't enter the bottom gate...

#

as artificer

#

because there are no scavs for the gate

#

Well, I'm making my way up

#

and around

plucky grove
#

Made it

#

Tomorrow I'll go meet Five Pebbles

#

Also I got so lucky

#

First attempt trying to get to the gate, I got killed by a scav

#

Second attempt, there was literally no scavs at all

dim trellis
#

that is very lucky, especially in such an open space hunterglee

#

congrats on making it to five pebbles though!!

plucky grove
#

In Metropolis

plucky grove

Any tips for this area?

But yeah you are free to just leave if you're in a rush. Any gate. Return to a region that's recognizable and beeline to pebbles or moon (or wherever you think you need to go) huntershruggy

#

All of this aside it should be remembered that the main meat of playing the rainworld experience is the exploring and wandering around. Not the hitting of progression milestones like a checklist. I can understand wanting to get through things quickly in the limited time you have, but it's still worth noting that the blind bumbling around isn't a time waste either. That's what playing rainworld is hunterglee
