that information led pebbles to develop rot somehow

I wonder if this could be related to the chimneys pearl that I once found (the one with illegal information). It's pretty far from Pebbles himself but maybe he used the method in that pearl to disable the self-destruct taboo and it went...wrong..

The reason Pebbles is using so much water? I can think of a few. One, his systems are overwhelmed and he needs much more water to run or maybe the rot also consumes part of it. Two, he is using an excessive amount of water to "flush out" the rot. Would explain the presence of hairballs in waterfront and how they get to garbage wastes.
