Assuming Hunter is pretty young they likely got the rot early on in life. I don't know what causes the rot....but Pebbles has it. I assume it's some kind of iterator thing but I can't be too sure.
My best guess is that we got the rot from NSH somehow, like they have the rot and we got curious and ate some or something

or maybe we got it naturally somehow

I found what looks like to be a uhm..satellite dish, like the ones you find in Communication Arrays. Slightly strange to see one in Garbage Wastes. There also seem to be a lot of statues like the ones in plantation and some parts of subterrain. Omg my favourite Garbage Wastes song!!!
This place holds such fascinating graffiti and structures, I hope I can one day grow to understand it better.
