#Need help with Hunter
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Also, I’m using this guide from steam
Just adding I have finished both campaigns on survivor and monk
Was originally planning to complete Hunter before dlc but
What help exactly are you looking for..?/gen
Paths, advice, shortcuts, something else? Do you want alternative routs suggestions?
Btw, Im rn trying to somewhat speedrun hunter, so we're kinda doing the same thing pfppf
Also. It's okay if you die and even restart the campaign a bunch times. Hunter is quite challenging!
Ah. No it's not over if you get to the starting karma. It may get you stuck in the biom though, which might be not good.
For chimney you need third karma. You can waste two cycles and still complete the game successfully.
You'd need 4th karma to cross the gate to the wall though.
A lil plan for the next few cycles ig: ||So. You reach 3rd karma, go to chimney, sleep. Then you may starve and visit the chimney echo (so you have boost of karma before you go to the wall)||
You have limited cycles as Hunter, so if I go back to starting karma at sky islands, does that mean that the subsequent hibernations I take to get back to max karma mean I can’t complete the game? (That’s a bit complicated lol I couldn’t think of any other way to word it)
You have to get the max karma to summon the echoes, so is it possible to get back to max karma with enough cycles to finish the game (that’s a bit a better wording)
I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THE GATES
No, the amount of cycles allows some room for error. You'd usually have a few extra cycles when finishing. So, yes, you may get to first karma at some points and still finish the game
What would be the best strategy? I need to get to a certain amount of karma to pass the gates but I end up dying a lot on the way there and I don’t want to waste all my cycles trying to get back karma
Which shelter are you at rn, how many cycles you have and where do you usually die(if there is a pattern)? May give an advice if I'll think of one and if you want
At cycle 17 right now, red is where Im hibernating black is where I’m dying most
Sometimes enemies will spawn which cause me to have to move faster and I end up messing up the jumps
But it’s mainly the cyan and orange lizards that get me
Please spoiler the image in this message and change the title of the thread to something that does not contain spoilers
Yeah this is good setup for thread, ty
Do you wish hand hold guiding or responses of try now what you want and replay hunter later on?
I’m gonna try to complete Hunter before getting the dlc
Does not answer to the question :D
Sorry I didn’t really understand the question, I’ll take all the help I can get
I asked mostly to know how spoiler free you wanted to this thread to be for you
Okay, 17 is good. First you should move to the next shelter, it's more peaceful there. You may try as much as you need, since dying doesn't spend the cycles.
For lizards: ||grab a cherry bush in the previos room (green on the map), it's mostly for yellow lizards.
Try to sneak through cyans' place (if there too close lure them out of the room (jump for a bit near the pipe), they will either stay on the other side of the pipe or if they don't, their leave still gives you enough time to cross the room.
Now to yellows (they're more problematic): if yellows are close to the pipe and aren't chasing you yet, you can throw the bush and they will go through the pipe. You need to run to the pipe then. Once you get through the pipe it's all good: you either stab yellow when you exit or lure them back to the other side. I'm pretty sure they also can't climb to the top platforms (pink on the map)
If yellows already chasing you, when you through the bush it still distracts and confuses them for a tiny bit but they won't drop the chase. You should get something in your paw in case you'd need to throw something at lizard.
You also may climb poles in the room, especially the first one (it's taller) and try to jump over a lizard if approaches you||
Spoilered in case you'll change your mind.
The map with indicators bc i forgot to add it here :')
I don’t mind spoilers for regions, but I’d prefer minimal spoilers lore wise
Kaykay. The message above doesn't contain lore spoilers
Thanks so much for the help! I’ll update on how it goes
Hope it's not too confusing
Yellows are just troublesome. Might take some time to figure how to get past them
Also. When you get through the yellows' room, you should have a backspear and a rock. Bc one of the gaps you'd be crossing requires throwing two objects (you should throw the neurone over the gap first, then take a backspear in hand and then leap)
Small update: I’ve managed to nab a vulture mask and I’ve heard that’s meant to be good for hunter, only problem is that I’ve not got anything for throw boosting, should I just ditch it? Or should I hibernate with it and try throw boosting with the green neuron?
Tried throw boosting and failed
wasted one hibernation but still gonna try and get to the next shelter
Ye i was trying to write about it but my message got first deleted and then disappeared a couple times
You need to throw two objects for crossing the big gap
And the neuron doesn't give boost (tested on myself
)
It worked on a shorter gap for me but not on longer gaps it seems
Oh! Btw you'll have a good chance to get a vulture mask in chimney (the mask, while not required , is very useful for hunter)
Cycle12 and still not out of sky island
I’ll see how the next few tries go but I think I might have to restart if I keep on dying
Theme song of Hunter https://youtu.be/v3eYjDJdI5k?si=-TBKw1Wij4p_zY82
Karma's a Bitch is a song recorded by Brit Smith in 2012, it was gonna be released as a single and was teased many times but eventually ended up getting scrapped. The song was also originally recorded by Miley Cyrus in 2011. 12 years later the song was released by Jojo Siwa.

By the way, if you’re not at max karma does the echo only raise your level by one?
echo requires you to be at max karma to be visited and after the first echo you have one level of failure where you can still visit. so it goes - 1st echo : max karma all the rest : max or max -1
first echo raises karma by 2 and the next ones by 1
If you're not at the required karma level, the echo won't show up
The wall echo and the subterranean echo don't have karma requirements though (can be visited at any time)
In all fairness I don't think either of the first two campaigns (monk and survivor) can truly prepare you for hunter
Maybe survivor since you will have to fight from time to time
But the amount of stuff in hunter is far too much
My advice? Try and get comfortable with fighting, but learn your limits
A lot of enemies you can fight off with general ease, but sometimes it'll be impossible with how many enemies there are on the screen
Alright four hours in 5 runs failed I need a different route, trying to get through sky islands to chimney canopy is hell
where are you struggling at in sky islands ?
This part…. Combination of the cyan lizards and yellow lizards is a pain
