hello! i hardly have a place to log my rain world adventures outside of a server with my friends and they arent avaliable all the time so i figured i'd make a post here so people can see where im at because i know people like witnessing first playthroughs
i've completed survivor and 
, tried a bit of hunter and im currently at ||the end(?) of metropolis|| as artificer
i hope you enjoy my misadventures whenever i remember to post about them
i've been advised by a friend to not repeatedly attempt to make it past the scavenger toll every cycle and instead shelter past the building so i'm gonna try that tonight

death number 4, lovingly pinned a scavenger against the exit pipe while trying to make my great escape and it plunged a spear through my chest killing me instantly

death number 6, managed to climb on top and get to the shelter, didnt have enough food, went to go find more and got stabbed by a scav without warning coming out of a pipe

spearmaster is more frustrating than any other slugcat in the game so far which is surprising considering arti existed
i think the issue is that the necessity for combat isnt counterbalanced by any amount of mobility and it doesnt help that i just came out of riv

if theres one thing i wish remix had it would be the ability to turn down the scaling of creatures because every single creature being the stronger version of itself here isnt very fun at all
anyway im still struggling to get into chimney, not enough things to eat in there and whenever i get through i usually die and have to grind karma in industrial again, game loves spawning cyan lizards outside of the gate (and even in the small tunnel past it literally leaving me with no choice but to let them kill me)

fighting off 3 cyan lizards at a time on cycle 5 industrial complex doesnt feel very balanced to me but maybe i just dont see the vision
this doesnt feel like a very good landscape to learn how to play spearmaster honestly

only way forward now is to head to shoreline and see moon but im unsure if she could even read it since im not marked, gut feeling she might be able to since this is in the past though

that was genuinely so fucking good, its such a good 'plot twist' and exactly how those should be structured because i didnt see it coming but in hindsight it was so incredibly obvious

okay it's been like a night and wow . just genuinely wow what a videogame its so fucking crazy how it all comes full circle like that. barely any spoken word but the writing is so good and i felt so many things during the ending i was still thinking about it when i woke up
i dont really properly understand what saint is or why he's groundhog daying, maybe saint is an extension of the benefactors kinda like how spearmaster is connected to srs? idk but like god its so fucking good, rubicon was so awesome (but i do wish it had a more detailed background of the upside down void sea) and the arena-like mechanics were so cool against the guardians and other enemies. wasnt a very big fan of how many rooms i had to go through with absolutely nothing in them between attempts though, couldve sheltered but there was no food and i didnt wanna risk going through dangerous places to find enough, rubicon went on way longer than it reasonably shouldve i feel
meeting five pebbles and moon at the end felt like i had actually done something good but considering i know the true nature of ascension now (being basically eternal life/purgatory) it calls into question if forcefully ascending them was the right thing to do rather than letting them live out the cycle (assuming iterators even experience the cycle which we dont know)
what an incredible game, i think downpour has its design flaws that are very blatantly unfair and not in the good way like base game does it but it was all very worth it in the end, cant wait to go and do more stuff here because im now implanted with the rain world autism i think
