I have spent the last hour trying to save inside Shoreline so I can finally play the game

Every time, I end up dying in Subterranean or dying inside Shoreline

I am considering using one of my fast travel tokens to fast travel away

I can't get out of subterranean

Every time I finally make it to shoreline, I die to some stupid thing

The ant nut bombs blowing up underwater so I drown. A shrimp banging into me so I lose control of mine and I drown. Or a lizard grabs me in .001 seconds and I die immediately

Hello all. It's been a lttle while

I needed to take a break from this game because I was just getting frustrated

In the meantime I've finished Resident Evil 4. It's very good, in case you're wondering. I'd recommend picking it up (It'll probably be on sale for this Christmas)

I'm going to give this game another shot. I'm going to try a little bit longer to make it out of this trap I'm stuck in. If I can't get out I'm going to use a fast travel token

My goal is to make it back to shoreline and listen to the yellow guy, who was pointing me towards some weird robot things

Game theory is that I have to go beat them up with my epic ninja skills

I'm a bit disappointed in this game that this happened, to be honest. I thought this game was all about exploration and wandering around. But now I've discovered that if I wander around too much, it's very easy to get stuck somewhere and just have a miserable time

If I didn't have the fast travel token, ngl I probaby would quit the game

I know it's not technically a soft-lock. I know I could technically muscle my way out of it, through sheer grit and determination. But it's not very fun. It's just the pits

The Shoreline-Subterranean gate is weirdly well-hidden, so, really, congrats on getting there in the first place. But for people that do, yeah, it's a fairly well-known new-survivor trap.

(That's generally one way the game tries to prevent people from getting stuck - paths that contain massive difficulty spikes are typically harder to find.)

(Keyword being "tries". It's an exploration-focused game, after all!)

Yeah getting stuck slows progress, but you still have opportunities to learn there, they're just not as frequent.

And you have the area mapped out, and you also know it's a tough spot you probably shouldn't go to without improving your survival skills. Knowing not to do something is progress
