I was about to mention the possibility of if it didn’t (The depths still existing), but then I remembered you loop back from the top of the screen if you don’t have max Karma.
That hints to me that it’s only for Saint, as it would just likely kill any other Scug

SI is a nice regions since you are next to one echo (free tutorial of how the echoes work for him, specially if you didn't bother with Arti ascension) and you are near 3 other echoes all of which can be reached in 1 or 2 cycles
