i know Rain World is a SUPER hard game just like so many on the internet but i’ve never played those games so it’s very new to me. i literally have 17+ hours playing Rain World in just two weeks so i have been grinding a lot and i do enjoy it a ton, but heck it gets me screaming. like the amount of times a vulture has suddenly loomed over me and killed me unexpectedly whilst attempting to get to Shoreline is unimaginable.

right now i’ve just met Moon in Shoreline (and yes, i did eat one of her enlightenments hehe) and i’m making my way back to the next gate thingy soon, but it’s lowkey super hard. plus i’ve been playing as Monk! the so called ‘easy’ mode, yet i’m struggling so much. and there’s no vultures from what i’ve seen in Shoreline but it’s time that’s the problem. i’ve been thinking about getting the DLC, Rain World: Downpour and using remix to unlock all campaigns to play as Rivulet; breath underwater AND just play as an overall great Slugcat. though reason i’m not is because i honestly don’t know if it’s worth it. i’m struggling a ton as is so i do need some tips for getting across the map.

ima explain some of my struggles so if you’re reading this BY ALL MEANS HELP ME 😭🙏

it’s been super hard for me to get across the map without getting eaten or killed- and i have learned most, if not all of the controls. i also suck at fighting, although i do feel like i’m getting better. im starting to feel like this game isn’t the cute little innocent survival game i thought i was walking into when i bought it- but i’m all for it, don’t you worry. i still need to learn how to leap off polls, backflip into a jump, roll without falling / jumping from a great height, and zooming across the ground like all those speed runners do. plus just some basic tips and tricks if you can, like HOW THE HECK DO I BRING CREATURES OR TOOLS INTO SANDBOX MODE?? also any thoughts on the DLC or if i should get it? idkkk- pls help i’m so lost at this point. sloggers

My first thought is the DLC will mostly just make things more confusing, and you should hold off monklaugh

Rainworld is definitely not a cute little survival game hunterknowing

#

And yeah I would not recommend dlc right now

#

Rivulet campaign is much harder than monk

#

Also

#

Don't feel bad about struggling with monk

#

It's only like 10 percent easier than survivor

I also wouldn't necessarily say the Monk is the easy mode. It's calmer, but that's not the same thing.

#

In some aspects (like swimming) it's actually worse

#

In any event, 17 hours to be at moon is actually faster than I took iirc so you're not on terrible pace

#

Just keep with it and I think you'll get through

#

As for sandbox mode

One thing I should point out is that Rain World is not like a lot of games. That sounds corny, but it's true and useful to know - it fights against a lot of traditional video game conventions.

Idk

#

I've never opened it lol

You also shouldn't worry that much about movement tech - it's certainly useful to know, but the more advanced forms of it are often too situational to help you significantly. Think practically rivowo

don't play the dlc yet, its equally as hard as the base game hunterkek it also normally requires you to beat survivor or monk before you can play any of the dlc slugcats

And, also, Rain World is a game where you die a lot. That is not necessarily what makes it hard. Don't think you're bad at the game because of it - getting pwned by things you don't understand is an important step in learning how to deal with them, and there really isn't much of a consequence for dying if you think about it.

The funny 2 hours of gameplay entering cc monklaugh

#

you don't take the time to learn how to survive in a given environment

#

instead you rush through just to visit moon

#

this cuts out a large chunk of wandering around aimlessly, which is even more exploring and surviving in a given area.

#

and sure, overseer does guide you every so often

And obsessively trying to do exactly what they say to all the time will get frustrating very quickly monklaugh

#

It's OK to disregard them if they aren't being helpful.
