i bet they are artificial creations that where created to act as overseers for their respective sectors. i recon its not unreasonable to assume there would have been more of them, potentially one for each major zone (DS and SC for example)

as moon can read them i can assume they are some form of data storage system, most probably created to act as a perminant "read only" form of data that cannot be tampered with

i dont want to say the rain, the rain feels like it was a secondary effect in the same vein as if all humans died of a illness the nucliar power plants would explode. an outside character would see that and assume the radiation killed everyone when infact it was something humans kept in check

almost impossible to say, the insane amount of water every so often would increase the rate of rust buildup

suicide? i see no other solution to that. even if that water was infact breathable i cannot see a world where the sheer pressure of the water wouldnt instantly crush our poor scug

potentially working for one or both of them? if so what does everyone get out of this partnership? the buddy directs me to food and shelter sometimes but that feels like more it helping me so i can achive its goals

my gut says this might be a gigantic data center. the rain could act as a cooling system that has gone haywire. though i am yet to find anywhere that requires such a large amount of coolant

it works as an access level. pebble even increases the maximum access level but why do we start with an access level and how do the gates "see" it

time manipulation? would explain why some things in the game seem to slowdown the passage of time??

would also explain why we need so much coolant as a machine of that calibur would be gigantic

... this would potentially explain the rain... maybe its supposed to be constantly drizzling but the machine stops it all and forces it to come down as a gigantic carpet of death

remembering why i stopped playing the game before. the game isnt fun when im relying on the ai of a creature to do jumps that are otherwise impossible

i have died more in SI than i recon most areas of the game combined

and so far only 3 of those deaths have been due to a creature attack
