some regions are more linear than others, but you'll probably know if you're in one of those (on account of there only being one way to go )

if you're having fun in a region, then stay, if it's too hard, then leave.

you should be trying to explore new regions after you've been in one for a while though

but even staying in one region and learning how the game works before moving on can be a viable strategy! it all comes down to how you want to play.
