It is by no means omnipotent, or even omniscient - though it may have some intuitive understanding of many things about the world, it probably would not be able to articulate how they work

two thoughts come to mind from all this...

1. it might be logical to assume that the way for the character to stop getting killed over and over for amusement is to become fundamentally uninteresting to kill. be it not reacting, becoming jaded, or purposefully being predictable

or 2) treat it like a time-loop story. there's a method to getting out of there that can be deduced and experimented from time spent dying over and over in the 'loop'- because, like many sapient things, even god-like beings can become predictable if you know them well enough!

2 also offers like. a possible narrative motif regarding knowing someone so well you can guess how they'll react. at first, the god-like being is confident they can't be bested by the one they torment, but the tables eventually turn and such

Then, I'd roam free, do things without consequence.

Dedicate my life to getting better at something.

Hmm, well, I haven't thought that far ahead. In the dream, the guy couldn't remember anything from past loops, but that may have to be tweaked. The time travel... uh... I'm not too sure. The best way I could explain it is that the monster thing exists outside time, or throughout all of it simultaneously. Think Kurt Vonnegut's Tralfamadorians. I'm gonna have to figure out the specifics because it's not well defined yet.

Oh that makes everything significantly harder lol. But something has to make the MC aware of the loop, else it's out of their hands to change things.

Then it depends on how much time they have before this being catches up and kill them again. What they can do to prepare so to speak. Usually if the antagonist is exceedingly more powerful than the MC then they need the ✨ power of friendship ( so overall they can achieve more than the antagonist can do)

Time traveling power without omniscience has a weakness of being too tunnel vision from thinking they already know what will happen, so a surprise counterattack would be the most effective I think.

If the MC can't trigger the loop but keep memory when the loop happens then there's some shenanigans they could do with more manpower. For example have someone hide out of sight in the first loop to find a weakness, then when the loop triggers, have a way to communicate to the hiding group to attack. The rest of the group dont even have to be able to remember the loop if the main character can communicate with them

There are two humans in the timeloop who remember the events of past loops, though they happen to be aligned with the being.

The being is, at the beginning, disguising itself as one of the victim's coworkers (rather poorly). It's usually the discovery that this coworker isn't a human that kickstarts the slaughter.

Definitely, it would be very cocky.

Hmm if preparation is out of the question with how abruptly the realization would be, then maybe your mc needs to incite conflict between this being and another being of equal power I guess? It's probably not possible to do something to surprise someone with the time travel power if you can't reliably disable them from trying again

Yeah, the monster isn't necesarrily the only one of its kind, or even the only species of uh, 'thing' with similar capibilities

But I don't think I'm going to go down that route because it's sort of tangential to the actual point of the idea

The underlying themes here are cycles (heh), of suffering and struggle against something you have essentially no control over.
