From the recent development trend of AIs approaching human level of thinking and reasoning, maybe Artificial Conscious is possible. But the majority seems to still be sceptical about the possibility, and many has emphasized a lot on not anthropomorphize the AI too much, at least for now.
That reminds me of the concept of (
spoiler) ||'taming'||
What if in order for the AI (that now operates based on neural network and concept connections to make the 'appropriate' responses) to be more or even have a true 'conscious' we have to do something similar to that? ||Act as if the AI does have conscious and treat them as such. So that they learn to response 'appropriately' so.||

Well, an AI when training (if you're using training data to make it) has to have "rewards" and "punishments" (not really, all it is is modifing the neural network's values and structure) and most likely the AI would be trained on "death = bad" and if we made a conscious from the ground up, it would likely be modeled after the human brain or similar. Hence it would have self preservation

There are a lot of words for when you just say nuh uh to an attack, or anything really, but using these interchangeably is not correct!
this is a guide to using the correct term every time!
Counter: Sometimes not even a special move. Probably the most common term you will hear. The correct way to use it is when you block/Dodge an attack and return your own; typically by entering a "counter stance" of some kind that leaves you vulnerable at the end if not struck.
Parry: Striking at the same time as another attack, and cancelling it. May also apply to projectiles. A more active or aggressive counter. Also more commonly heard in swordplay. May be done with a normal attack or a special one designated for it. Also a more general term (See: Ultrakill Feedbacker)
Reflect: Usually projectile exclusive. You are guarding in some way and sending a projectile back at your opponent. Occasionally also applies to Melee attacks. More common in purely defensive/magical implements; (See: Pokemon Mirror Coat)
Deflect: A less refined Reflect, usually projectile exclusive and not guaranteeing a direct return-to-sender. Most often used for when an projectile is sent away from the target.
Reversal: Similar to a parry, using your own attack to stop another. However, this one requires I-frames (See: Street Fighter Uppercuts)
Now, I hope you have fun nuh uhing everything that comes your way! Keep in mind, a lot of these will have variants (perfect counter/parry) and the terminology may be different depending on what you are defending.
