The vagueness of most things is due to history itself dissolving away, the void sea eating its own name, it probably has had many names, we’re just living in the time when it’s called “The Void Sea”, when everything and even Iterator structures finally sink into the void, what will it be called next?, maybe it’ll be called “The Golden Ocean” or “Lake of Forgetness”
Any knowledge from the previous world eaten by the very thing that sparked to create the reason to write down that knowledge

A new world with new creatures, a new civilisation rises out from the snow

Will they see the void sea as an unstoppable force? A way to escape? A deadly killer?
Maybe that’s how you see it
Maybe that’s how others saw it

Ascension probably wasn’t even a thing considered back back back before the depths were so deep in the ground, and maybe it won’t even be ascension in the future either

I personally think of Ascension like changing homes
You don’t have to change houses, if you care for your house, and love living In it, why leave to a new one? But if your house is broken, depressing, and tearing away at you, then maybe it’s time to try a new house
