One take I have is that the void worms, the egg, the implication of rebirth... it's all because the void sea is actually a false ascension. The void worms are karmic demons who are keeping you trapped in the cycle so they can continue to feed on it, and you seeing your origin and greatest desire when you "ascend" is just you being sent back to your one great tether (hence why the worms get you on a tether!)

it varies, but theres always a iteration of a 'saint'

a being who can save them all the scug version we play as isnt the first, and wont be the last

I think every individual creature has it's own cycle, and "The Cycle" refers to the continuous marching forward.
Every creature when the cycle ends, leaves the previous cycle that it was in and enters a new one that is also dedicated to it.
If you die, you also wake up in your next cycle. A creature's cycle can be in a certain time period in a certain place.
So when you 'see your own cycles spanning out in front of you' you see what happened in all previous cycles you were alive, and if you can see the future, you can see what cycles will occur next. The way multiple creatures can meet is their cycles overlapping with one another; the same time and place.

Echoes are beings that are shifting in and out of creature's cycles, attuning to their current one and therefore being present in it. They do this eternally.

With the karma flower dialogue, and the "other worlds" I believe that it allows who consumes them to experience an illusionary perspective of themselves in a different place in time, or even an entirely seperate world and cycle if we're going by the fictional universes that are talked about.

anyway I'm going to quickly ramble about how this interpretation effects my story I'm writing

A creative liberty I'm going to take for my story to work is that ascension is a process that happens while you're swimming down into the void sea.
When the worm drags you down and you move towards the light, that is completing your ascension.

And you're slowly being ultra-dissolved as you're swimming.

But what if you stopped mid-way through the process? What if you swam back up, now torn apart and slightly outside the bounds of the cycles?

That is exactly what happens to an unfortunate slugcat who gets spooked by the worms and swims back up.

a webhook is an integration you can add to a server that allows you to send messeges from somewhere like a website into discord as a message

it also allows for "embeds" like this one

there is a website called discohook that allows you to send any message to a webhook

so I made an embed there, sent it from the webhook into the server, and then forwarded the message here

6. Go to https://discohook.org/ and paste the webhook link into the "Webhook URL" field
7. Clear all the default text and press the big "Clear" button

Chat, I come to thee with questions about names — I was considering basing some characters (who are using aliases) names on the Greek Alphabet

For example, the name of the first character in my new fic is Epsilon

The thing Im afraid of is that readers may associate these names with other media and thus be distracted from the actual character

The other names were Rho, Phi, and a very minor role from Xi (or Eta, as I’m undecided)

It just has to be unique within itself.

The reason the trope of “last of their kind” is so used is because it works!
