I tried setting up a cloud computing instance last night( took way longer than I thought, I'm so rusty on linux language now ...)

Tried running a purpur server and it worked, can login from my home network so that side of things should be good

Now I'll attempt a server with fabric+optimized mods next since I heard purpur modified some vanilla behavior and that's not ideal

So far it seems if I pregen the world the load on the cpu/ram resources is very very low, the tick lag spike seemed to only happen when I tried to make the server generate more chunks

Yes. Mods can add a lot of the missing stuff but not every DLC is necessary. Biotech is good (the only one I have) and Ideology seems to be the reigning champ still
