i managed to get to like lvl 14 once and then tried, but then got smacked hard

at times, the enemies at the start vary a lot in difficulty, even tho i have only medium selected

sometimes its super chill for a while
and other times, within like the first minute itself there are a million things

does the difficulty itself have variations to it?

Mithrix is better as a final boss designed to be learned by newer players while false son is better as a final boss designed to be a big challenge -Eliza

Fs is still extremely consistent if you learn his attacks but he'll still keep you on your toes and heavily punish mistakes regardless -Eliza

The only thing about fs I don't like is that dash + slam makes p1 on some survivors impossible without the right items
But I DO like how it interacts with ion surge specifically, it allows him to counter the verticality but you still have the ability to avoid an airborne slam without mobility items -Eliza

Imo false son is actually a wonderfully designed boss in terms of being a challenge, he just needs his dash + slam toned down in some way to make a few survivors viable without movement items -Eliza

Based on me testing itemless fs, dash + slam completely gatekeeps these survivors if they don't have movement items:
-Captain if diablo skip doesn't instakill phase 1
-Engi with stationary turrets
-Flanethrower arti
-Railgunner
-Mul-T with any loadout that isn't powermode double nail
-And bandit
