while you're on your way to dash, try get ironwill or Beast Master (the steeve perk, use it on a bug and it becomes your friend named Steeve, only works on grunts, slashers, and guards)

The only reason to not take born ready other than yknow driller is if you for some reason have a loadout that doesn't have anything that reloads

it is plain yes, but it's pretty solid, you can get a lot of XP from it and it's not too hard to do
