I have some questions regarding an ambitious modding project me and a friend have.
We have a concept that adds a new region only available for Hunter and Artificer made as a way to get to Outer Expanse which also adds a new ending that allows Hunter to get back to NSH alive, and for Artificer to heal rather than to either get revenge or to die in the abyss.
I have questions specifically on:

  • how to design and add a new ending to a pre-existing scug,
  • how to modify a pre-existing region,
  • how to add special world events,
  • how to modify pre-existing dialogues and interactions.

Any help would be appreciated 🙏

To modify regions, you just find a tunnel then connect a custom room(with three exits)that you want to be your basis, connect the two exits to the rooms that usually connect straight into each other, and the third exit can lead to a gate or something(check the wiki for world file guides)

And I could use this also to just replace a pre-existing room with a different room not necessarily to even add a new exit?

Yeah, I do want to add new rooms, but I want to change the terrain and aesthetic of several other rooms in Farm Arrays to make a bit more of a seamlessly immersed path to the new region

And I want to change a lot from Outer Expanse (mostly remove the ruins part (for story reasons)) and make it a lot more wilderness

I see, you would probably find the room in the level editor, tweak it and change the file name (e.g XX_A03 => XX_myA03) and set it to connect to the tweaked one instead.(see the world editor guide for that)

Basically the idea is the new region, the Conservatorium, was an old going-out location for the ancients, which was a large indoors garden which overlooked the edge of their complex out into the Outer Expanse, it gets unlocked by Artificer with the Citizen ID drone, and then when that gets unlocked, Hunter can also go through it, and it connects an older version of the Outer Expanse, the ruins that you come across in Outer Expanse post-gourmand being the collapsed Conservatorium
