I bought rain world and pre-ordered downpour 2 days ago, started playing, and the update on the 11th made my safe file unplayable on due to constant crashes. Figured it was some data corruption as Ive seen some people say, so I deleted my save data (cloud included) along with the game itself before redownloading it and starting completely fresh.
Now every time I try to start up the survivor campaign, the software crashes completely right before the moment where the starting cutscene would play ; it's a shame because I was really looking forward to get into it but I have no idea what to do except wait for a fix update. I also have the bug where music doesnt work until I use the slider, but that's not as problematic as me being unable to start the game

tested and confirmed to occur on my version as well.
I switched to Save Slot 2, which was empty, then attempted to start Survivor from scratch.
I did the above test with all mods disabled, and the game is functional.
I also tried everything except Remix disabled, and it crashed.
So that should isolate it to something in Remix.
I did the test again with Remix enabled but all options unchecked, and it did not crash.
So it is a Remix setting that is causing this.
It should be possible to systematically determine which one it is.
I did the test again with all mods enabled and Remix options all unchecked, and the game crashed. So there may be two different things that crash it.
I'll do more testing later.
I see. I imagine its wiser to wait until patches come out to start committing to a new save, but it's "good to know" that it's not just a me problem
Yep! Glad to help.
Okay! New testing info.
So if you set the preset to Classic, the Survivor intro works with all mods disabled except Remix.
If you enable the Remix preset, the game crashes. But, if you enable Remix, toggle one of the settings off, apply, then toggle it on and apply again, it works.
So I think it's that the Remix preset has a typo or something!
Or there's something weird about it.
I will now attempt this with More Slugcats enabled also.
Fingers crossed.
No dice...
Disabling More Slugcats and testing that Remix is still in a good state.
Which it is.
So one crash is solved.
