I don't think there's been any proven save corruption on xbox, but it's annoying not to have them safe.

And the backup doesn't distinguish between corrupted and safe data, it'll just overwrite your previous backup with the corrupted one if you close the software and don't disable auto backup before it finishes.
If data corruption appears on Switch then they probably will add it.

Before the patch on PS4 like a couple months ago, you could passage to MSC scug exclusive regions as any scug who has the ability to passage
For example, Survivor passaging to ||Rubicon|| or ||Looks to the Moon||

i have not tested it much but it has something to do with giant jellies, zoopers, and possibly aquipedes
like all that i know about it right now is that spawning all three in arena mode will eventually crash the game

I’ve appeared for the first time in forever because I remembered this existed
When I abandon an expedition, it’ll erase all my data until I go into setting and select the save file the progress was on, then it’ll be back when I go back to the main menu
this is something with the save data loading after exiting an expedition in any way, i personally don't know what exactly causes this, but it fixes itself after a few seconds.
also, if you select a campaign, it will use your save data, so it's effectively just visual.

According to the patch notes it wasn't fixed, but the PS version now uses a save backup system in case of data corruption
I think the bug is exclusive to the PS version, not 100% sure on that part
its probably on xbox too, reason for the backup and restore system not being on xbox is cuz u can backup your save data for free which is my guess

i'm just saying thats an option for switch users to avoid data corruption, personally thats what i'm gonna do til data corruption is permanently gone, also if you mean by "have hints been fixed" as in it would say one word like cheese then yes its fixed
Honestly, I would risk corruption for the update
I think it would be rather nice to have to play the game again, if it does get corrupted
And there isn't really much to lose (except for collectables).
If you know what you're doing, you can finish a campaign in like 2 hours. (depends on which campaign).
But i don't think i would like it because mapping out the map is something i love doing.
i wouldnt want to risk data corruption and have to reget everything like the collectibles, scug progress and challenges(and some are a pain imo) i have too much progress to lose on the switch version and even tho i only have done survivor and all pearls/collectibes he can get on the ps5 version still rather not risk it

So data corruption was found to be on the PS4/PS5 versions on Rain World. Xbox never got any data corruption reports during the period. For some reason it stuck to Playstation only.

Started playing a different track for me. In previous patch I had to touch the audio sliders after it had faded otherwise is was just silent.

So… I was playing expedition, with Rivulet, in Nintendo Switch, alright?
So… I was killed in a room in the Underground, by a blue lizard after I attacked a black lizard
That lizard got snatched by a monster kelp in the ceiling, with me in the blue lizard mouth…
And then I tried to record it with the Nintendo record thing that records things that just happened
And… probably that caused this:

idk if someone has said anything about this, but entering a room or shelter from a gate room without activating the gate crashes the game in expedition or co-op. at least on ps4.
so like, you enter a gate room and try to leave or go into a shelter and the game crashes, but if you use the gate and go into a room or shelter it's fine.
it's been like this since the dlc came out and i thought the devs would have fixed it by now. i'm sure they're trying though, and sorry if people have posted about this before and i'm just being redundant
i think thats only when jolly co op is on it does that, dont think it affects expedition unless jolly co op is active

I think it's based on if the game is lagging below a certain point (in campaigns) then the game crashes
when you take a clip

In Russian language “total points” text and points themselves are on top of each other (similar in expedition stats)
Probably the rot. A MLL spawns in the room beneath and can wander its way up to that room I think. MLL still cause game freezes afaik

I've directly seen MLLs and it hasn't frozen for me yet. Usually the freeze does take a short while to occur after they're visible.
It happens in sandbox mode too sadly 
So basically you can’t use mlls there until it’s fixed
that is if u can even get to its unlock without it freezing to mess with it in sandbox mode
It varies. Ive never had the freeze outside of sandbox. I have been in rooms with MLL without freezing. Some people it seems to freeze almost immediately. It’s strange.
The freeze is also like a soft freeze.
You can still move around and go to different rooms
And the background will still update.
And you can pause and exit iirc.
I usually freeze even when they're not on screen.

which is how I learned that the proto long legs are a room effect
I’ve noticed that night time in metropolis in expedition comes much later than it should, like after 5 or more minutes cycle ended night actually started. This can be due to heavily reduced cycle time multiplier (0.3).
Heyo is anyone having issues finishing arti's campaign on ps4? I finished it, quit out of the game to manually save on USB, then loaded it back up but I was back at the previous cycle. Thought it might be a one-off so tried again, same thing happened. I'm not too annoyed but I would like to actually be done! The USB save is the same so the issue must happen when the game is closing
MLL freeze seemingly recovers once it dies and stops rendering. (Oops)
I feel like this freeze happens when a MLL tries to go through a pipe but that's just a guess really
It went through one just fine before I took that clip.
I found a fix for this in case anyone needs it! Continuing the game and saving in a shelter solves this issue, seems like the campaign just doesn't save fully at its conclusion
i never had this issue, after i completed arti i did the same thing as u were right after i beat it i backup it up on a usb, went back into the game and arti was standing on the platform that the ||king scav|| was on
That's pretty weird. Guess it was just my game's problem then! At least it was easily fixed.
Scav rep is still messed up. I get chieftain essentially for free every time I play slugcat with neutral/positive starting rep. This happens some time after first interaction with scavengers
When I play as slugcat with negative starting rep it’s either very hard or just impossible to get chieftain to even show up in hibernation screen
After playing Expedition for an extended period of time (I'm doing 100%), the loading screens start taking forever and the audio begins stuttering, as if the music was tied to the game logic speed.
RM_102 in || the rot || keeps freezing whenever we enter it on switch
probably cuz theres a ||mll|| in there like it always freezes for me in rm_terror and rm_E05 on the ps4 version on ps5

My game has crashed total of 4 times in around one hour at metropolis when I played expedition as arti with blinded burden enabled
When it crashes only one or two times it’s somewhat understandable but 4 times is a lot
Also I have 3 passage tokens available even though I completed only one passage (same expedition, passages enabled perk)
It has been like 3 months when switch fix
The intro cutscene is STILL buggy and desynced and it's so annoying

I don't get what this server's obsession with blaming the hardware is. That's not why it was released broken.

The only facet that it plays into is the game's headroom for performance. It will probably always be problematic on Switch, despite how much it can affect gameplay in a lot of circumstances.
yeah, some games run amazing on switch.
Rain world also runs pretty great on switch, but laggy areas and some freeze bugs can make it look like doesn't.
But it's still more than playable.
(avoid said areas though)
Agreed, it's like people haven't noticed so many games have released entirely buggy this past almost decade.
That's why I normally wait potentially years for a game to get patched, for it's dlc to fully release before buying it at a cheap price on sale.

They probably did. And would've definitely been aware of the bugs. But for some reason or another they weren't able to push a fix before release date. That be the fix not existing or some weird behind the scenes thing we don't know about preventing it at the time.
It was the responsibility of whoever was managing the port. And the ball was dropped. At least it works mostly now.
Hopefully they fix some of the more annoying bugs that still exist. And especially the crashes.

Idk why but my game keeps crashing while loading when I try to continue my hunter run. I hibernated at VS-S03 with a slugpup. Is there any way to fix this? I don’t want to lose my perfect run
Also each time it crashes I lose karma which can eventually just kill the run due to limited cycles
I'm having that exact same issue in another campaign in the same shelter.
I had just found a second slugpup and hibernated in that shelter on the way to Filtration System. But it crashes on load every time I attempt to load the file.
Sheltering with slugpups in Pipeyard is so finicky.

If you enter a gate room in expedition mode or co op and then leave the room without going through the gate the game will crash.
I really hope they fix this because I've had to put up with this during all of my expeditions and it just basically removes certain shelters from the game like the chimney canopy shelter that is next to sky islands. That one is evil. in the meantime go into the remix menu and turn on no random cycle duration it helps out a lot with this bug.
(oh as a bonus report I found a leviathan break dancing on top of the water one time I have the video saved on my switch)
Is VS-SO3 shelter safe to use without slugpup?
I have a bug where if i get an ending the game will rewind that campaign's time to last cycle

Hi so, I keep being softlocked on switch. It crashes when going through a pipe linked to a gate, but only seems to happen when I'm either with a slugpup or another player. It's been happening since the DLC released in July but I only just unlocked slugpups. I was so excited to find my first one but he broke the game and now I'm stuck between shoreline and shaded citadel. Not enough karma to go back, crashes every time I go forward. 😞
I was coming from Shoreline, going to shaded citadel. The game also crashes if I leave the shelter and go back in, so I can't starve to use a passage either
Hey, the solution to this is turning off the jolly co-op mod, it causes this problem!
Yeah don't enable Jolly Co-op unless explicitly using the multiplayer function for that session, since you'll run into these bugs.
me when i leave jolly co-op on all the time and have never run into any issues:

I haven't heard too much about the experience from Xbox players, probably because Rain World had only released when Downpour came out.
But I assume it had the same bugs as PS4 and Switch, and most of those have been fixed in subsequent patches.

xbox 1S player here, got the game for Christmas - menu literally doesn't work, controller inputs not taken in. I deleted and reinstalled, and it worked immediately after, but now I've tried to play again today its the same bug

Ps4- was playing with rivulet during shelter failure, there is the room right before garbage wastes gate at industrial complex, this room has a shelter, the room was flooded (not only this but a lot of diferent rooms that dont usally flood) everytime i try to get close, my game crash, three times in a row
also, slugpup goed inside the wall of the shelter and died, also, fix the custom color for console, it doesnt work (i can only put black n white)
- turn off pre-cycle flooding, 2. most likely the slugpup is going through the wall so maybe quit out really quick and go back in and spam the grab button to get them i had that happen and was able to save them, 3. Idk what problem custom colors have, i play on both switch and ps4/5 and never had any issue with that

Sometimes when enter expedition menu my game resets my progress (all perks are locked, no burdens and train tunnels is playing) but it fixes when i enter different menu like jukebox or leave to main
Its more of a slight inconvenience
But i died inside the first time when i saw that my precious perks that i grinded for were gone

yeah pebbles is supposed to have 0% to spawn one
that is why we from msc spoilers advised them to post it here, likely is a console bug since its console 
Pebbles kidnapped a child and banished them to the rot, crazy
kidnapping children on consoles is not a new thing, as it happened before in pipeyard with scavengers
i had my children kidnapped when i snuck into metropolis for the pearls 
how did you get into metropolis with your children 
uhhhh earlier patch had a glitch where you could passage to any region, even ones you shouldnt be able to get to

Hey, I have a question about the save files in Rain World. I want to know if is only me experiencing thid or if other people experienced this as well.
Today I open the game in my PS5 and I saw that all my save file data was completely deleted. Yesterday was totally normal, I had all of the slugcats' stories completed, I had all the creatures/items unlockables, I had all of the safari unlockables, I completed all of the challenges (except for the 70 challenge), and I completed all of the expeditions. I only replayed Survivor's campaign, Saint's campaign, and Artificer's campaign for a bit.
But today everything was deleted out of nowhere. I honestly didn't do anything for it to be deleted like that out of nowhere.
@formal plinth To make sure it was actually deleted, go to a different save file and go back to your main one. For some reason that visual glitch is there. If it's 100% gone, unless you have PS+, I do not believe there is a way to get your data back.
For some God forsaken reason, the console port fucked up how saves work I guess and the day that'll be fixed is when there's roots growing in your house

it makes sense to add that rule to speedrun until the bug gets patched

If not then I,can make a thread on this, but on the Switch there's a really jarring desync in the cutscenes. Music no longer plays in time with the cutscene, resulting in desynced music beats and large periods of silence towards the end when the song is finished playing but the images are still playing through. This really spoils the atmosphere of many cutscenes and I hope it gets fixed soon

I know of the bug where you could passage to regions normally inaccessible in a slugcat's campaign
Before Downpour:
- Shared map progress between campaigns
- You can passage to any shelter visited in either past or current playthroughs
Since Downpour:
- Map progress is separate between campaigns to accommodate world changes through time
- You can only passage to shelters visited in your current playthrough
This is an intentional change, it has worked like this on PC since DP release
Originally, console DP did not change this properly which caused situations like passaging to regions which shouldn't exist in the current time
With recent patches it should now work as intended (not sure about separate map progress however)

(PS5) With Jolly Coop and MSC enabled, Pipeyard's shelter VS_SO3 will crash the game everytime you go back to that campaign which requires a full reset of that campaign to work again

Guys, calm down, lots of bugs have been fixed already after the release on console.
I know it's not right to be given a "broken" dlc, but they're getting there slowly but surely fixing all these bugs.
It has tons of content (i would say 2 times as big as the base game), and you should expect bugs.
Idk man these bugs somehow went through playtesting (audio bugs, crashing, expeditions not working on launch, safari crashing, batflies crashing the game, MLLs crashing the game, missing audio, funny soft locks, etc) and then they had the gall to give it a price tag
I don't care if it was even lower, they sold a broken product and by no means should I praise these blind playtesters for letting it slip through
Especially when it took MONTHS (ESPECIALLY for Switch players) to get an actual good patch but even then this waste of 15 bucks isn't even fixed and it'll take even longer for it to be fixed

I got a shelter failure, now my game cant stop crashing whenever i get out of the gate room between the two maps, usually by the next room, but its probably the failure that caused it?? I dunno, but im pretty much locked in the area thanks to that

Gates only work with Jolly Co-op enabled if you use them in the same cycle as when you exit them. Basically going from one side to the other, waking up on one side and leaving without using the gate causes it to crash for some reason.
I would've thought they'd have fixed it but this issue still occurs seemingly.
I certainly remember sleeping in shelters at gate rooms without peeking outside before, but my memory isnt that reliable

i have an issue where if i leave a gate without actually leaving the pipe (if that makes sense) and i don't have enough karma, my game crashes every time. i found out it is because of jolly co-op. i'm not sure how to fix it without having to turn of jolly co op every time!

so I was finishing up my second Saint campaign, and for some reason, this shelter just doesn't exist??? like even if I check the map, it doesn't exist but on the wiki map it's there I don't know if there's anything I can do about this Saints campaign is still possible even without this shelter it's just a lot harder and more tedious.

But weirdly, it turns out the shelter has never been there (if you look it up on the interactive map).
What is wrong however, is the pipe which is now where the shelter should have been.

When a creature is on the other side of a pipe the pipe changes color and maybe blinks, but it never glows or flashes when it happens. It nearly makes it impossible to tell if a vulture is on the other side. Might just be a switch issue?

but with dp the pipe goes to the UW_PREGATE room before going to the shelter because the UW_PREGATE room connects to the gate to precipice

Might be a similar problem to mine. My expedition menu won't give me the checkmark if I complete one of the main missions. Weirdly it seems to still count it in the stats. It's annoying cause I need to finish apex predator but I would get nothing at all for it! I got the checkmarks fine for most of the expeditions before the most recent update... that might have caused this. I did submit a bug report a while ago but seems like noone knows anything about this : (

Definitely sounds like the same thing. I did get the milestones though somehow... I did arti and saint's missions and they don't have checkmarks but they counted towards the 3 arti / saint quests anyway. My expedition menu has everything neat and done at the bottom but not at the top. I kinda doubt the game will give the achievement if it doesn't recognise you've done it : (

I haven't had data corruption in ages and it got me twice before the update fix so I think that issue is pretty much gone luckily!
I've been so paranoid about that i've not touched the ps4/5 versions( expect for the ps4 version cuz i randomly wanted to unlock kayava and it spiraled from there) in months and when i play on my switch i'm still on 1.9.10 just to be safe

Could you use a USB? That works fine to keep your save safe. I didn't lose anything with the second corruption. I still backup my saves cause rainworld is still the most unstable game I play haha

Hopefully the expedition menu bug can be fixed, would be pretty sucky if it was a permanent bug for the save file. I've got a 100% completion file and I would like to keep it that way for expedition also. (Not so sure about completing all the challenges though! Sounds like nothing but pain to me)
as long as i get the expedition achievement i couldn't care less but the 75 challenges thing i'm only doing all on the ps5 version and i might give up on that cuz of the last challenge

well while trying to get all the quests done i'm trying to get doomed unlocked to see if my bs strat will work with that and if it does it can really help people speed through those 2 quests so the game cant screw u over either it be rng or crashing cuz rain world has been the most unstable game i've played
When checking out regions in the main menu the room connections appear to be out of place where some are just not even connected to rooms. Is fine when playing.
Also if a creature, like a lizard trys to enter a sleep spot while it's being closed on the next cycle said creature will continue to be in said sleep spot which can be a problem if its a aggressive creature.
The creature should be pacified for a couple seconds. This sadly doesn't apply to red centipedes for whatever reason
red centipedes disappear if you shelter with them inside it
the room connections do be broken on pc too

Passages in Expedition mode work differently, instead of using achievements it's tied to challenges instead

Switch: Expedition mode, spearmaster, both times with hidden challenges but unsure if that affected it. The den on the shoreline side near the gate between shoreline and garbage wastes deletes vulture masks. I've had it happen in two different playthroughs.

If you have a pup with you and you take them to that shelter, that whole character save is corrupted and will crash when you try to get back into it, forcing a reset

The game can just crash anytime it feels like it really. You can try to prevent crashes by avoiding stuff that might overload the game but that probably won't work anyway!
It was even worse on ps4 when crashing had a chance to just completely corrupt your save file.
Sometimes the reason for crashing is Just Because and the solution is that there isn't one : )

The AI just becomes crap with those two enabled, when disabled the AI actually works as it should with little issue

You can use the shelter that's closest to Industrial so if your pups get lost they'll be near the scav treasury

Having a pup in that shelter will make your campaign crash when resuming it
The only way to fix it is a full campaign reset

what's the arti jolly co op one i heard of pupyard and experienced the mll freezes but no clue on arti jolly co op bug. Also to add on to the list of remaining bugs thing maybe it can be organized from least game breaking to the most game breaking or most common to least common.
I found it myself under extremely tragic circumstances I don't think I can discuss, but I did make my own bug report about it.

Supposedly, playing as arti with co-op in a campaign that's not theirs will permanently lock karma at one for that campaign, even if you select a different scug after, and it's not fixable on console (You can mess with the files to fix it on pc). Only solution is a reset of the campaign or turning off karma requirements entirely which not everyone would want to do. Haven't experienced this bug either but I'm not exactly eager to try and see for myself, not worth it at all!
I don't think that one's been fixed yet. Maybe it's kinda hard to fix, since that's just how arti's karma works
It's definitely something that can be fixed, especially if the fix only involves one line and it doesn't happen with Saint anyway
i had something slightly similar but not that bad with jolly co op, when messing around as saint in jolly co op i noticed the rain timer was gone like how it is in their campaign maybe something in the code is trying to bring something of those two in the current campaign like " is player artificer? yes, then lower karma", maybe the karma thing can happen to saint as well
its the console version of rain world i won't completely dismiss it as being possible
Huh not heard that about saint before, it does make some sense though. There are a bunch of things tied to specific characters that completely break if you mix them in an unintended way. Gourm's momentum-based damage and pouncing is broken if they have riv's speed perk. Arti cannot use gourm's crafting perk. I'm not surprised the temperature / rain mechanic is tied to saint as a character. Arti is also the only scug with the ability to borrow scav karma (which is why the bug is a problem)
I wouldn't consider that saint thing a bug though, it's the 'permanent even if you're not arti anymore' part that's the issue

Hey this is my first time reporting a bug so hopefully I'm doing this right but I'm on ps4 and my gourmand campaign is glitched, I go through the ending and after the credits roll I've got the new ended campaign art, but when I turn the game off and come back in the save reverts to the cycle before I reached the ending. Is that supposed to happen?

The game kinda just forgets that I've finished the gourmand campaign when I turn the game back on after leaving, it even forgets the length of the campaign

Yeah, I've never had any issues with the other campaigns aside from crashing when leaving a karma gate/entering a shelter but the crashes have stopped
The only glitch I'm experiencing is this one
You can either keep doing it or sheltering near the ending so you don't have to go back a far distance
I am sheltered near the ending, no matter how many times I've redone it it just reverts back to the previous cycle when the game reloads
On top of all this I had slugpups but after reaching the ending and opening my game the next day the pups were completely gone
I had all my progress but they just vanished :[
I don't really mind if there isn't a fix at the moment I just hope the devs possibly see this and patch it

Food quest ending (I had slugpups unlocked via cheats, though I tried again after deactivating them and nothing changed), I had the ending art as long as the game kept running but after I close the game everything is reset
Basically the ended campaign stays until the game is reopened
yea sounds like the weird save glitch from 1.5 might still be here sadly had that happen to me on my second hunter run on switch i recommend making a bug report and hope one of the staff see it cuz that bug was hella annoying to deal with back then

how long is ur playtime like overall cuz it took me back in 1.5 like a 140+ cycle monk run, 80+ cycle survivor run, and 2 hunter runs so basically over like 100 hours for me to get that if its not stupid long then maybe it might be something else

if u check later ping me wut it is cuz on switch i've been doing all pearls and passages runs for all of them (except hunter just did their one special pearl and saint cuz i haven't unlocked them yet) i've spent 24 hours on spearmaster, did 2 gourmand and arti runs (both runs of each was part of the all pearls and passages runs) to screenshot both ending art and re did rivulet cuz i accidentally started the ending sequence before reading all the pearls and never had this issue come up again since 1.5 so im just so confused why it would come up again and this late after downpour

, monk was 183 cycles so 14 hours and spearmaster was 237 cycles so 41 hours and 49mins
Heyo, not sure if it'll help, but I had that same saving issue with arti. Killed the chieftain 3 different times and it wasn't staying completed. What fixed it for me was immediately continuing without exiting the game / going to the main menu, and just saving in a shelter like normal. Turns out, me closing the game to copy it to a USB to prevent save issues, was indirectly causing save issues...
Not sure if you've tried this already but it's worth a try if not : )

Spearmaster: 9 hours 26 minutes
Saint: 4 hours 41 minutes
And also this worked! Thanks man! I somehow hadn't thought of that. My slugpups sadly have vanished forever but the game has given me a pair of new ones so hopefully my previous two kids are doing okay and aren't stuck in a pocket dimension or something 
I haven't done anything USB related whatsoever but my PS4 is hooked up to an extended storage unit so I'm starting to think this issue may have something to do with the console being connected to external storage

My theory for this bug was that completing the campaign doesn't save 'fully' and is missing something that usually happens when you shelter normally, It reverts cause it didn't save properly.
I've not heard of this being a very common bug though so maybe it is related to external storage!
Seems odd though, using a backup shouldn't affect the game data at all really, it's only being moved one-way. I'm not sure how hardware could cause a software problem in this case, surely that would mean its a problem with the whole console rather than the game. It's too bad this bug isn't common enough to test what causes it I guess

Alright didn't think I'd be back again so soon but after deciding to do another hunter run I've found that it specifically still has karma gate crashing issues that were not there prior to downpour
Almost if not every gate will crash if you go through any pipe that isn't the one that'll take you to the next region
Shelter, the pipe which you came through, anything like that
Your game crashes instantly and none of the other campaigns have this problem for me
The game will also crash if you go back into the gate and then try exiting again
I'm not going to go and test every gate there is but I know at least 3 of them have this problem (sky island/chimney canopy, sky island/farm arrays, shoreline/sub)

Basically no matter what you do the game crashes if you go through anything but the pipe leading to the next area

I would maybe try and see if turning off various settings works. If it's only happened since downpour you might be able to narrow down a cause? Maybe even turn on jolly co-op and turn it off again, who knows, it might do something. hopefully not make it worse though!

I'm in filtration so turning off downpour would probably mess something up since it's rooms were rearranged
But I'm very sure it's downpour related since I've never had crash issues for anything before it

i did a hunter run with downpour on playing on a 7 year old switch with no problems dont think its a hardware issue
I don't think I've ever crashed in hunter. It's usually spearmaster that's the most unstable
and a ps5 still no issues on both ps4 or ps5 versions
Spearmaster has been very smooth in my case
I guess our consoles just have slugcat biases

well i did have my switch overpowering my ps5 by making its internet lag by playing yt on both one day
I've had to restart my run because of that a few times but I've learnt to find alternative routes and whatever

I mightve had jolly co-op do something like that before actually. I've finished a campaign to see some points given for 'friends sheltered' even if I've not had it on at all. I think I even saw it after beating the game in one sitting without quitting out a single time.
Definitely something weird going on. If you finish at some point maybe check if you got some 'friends sheltered' points for no reason too!

I don't think it's threaded too well, which is where some performance issues lie. I suppose it'd be hard to remedy this though.
From my experience it eats up mostly just one core and starts dropping frames when that core is maxxed, not necessarily slowing down though.

I'm still gonna avoid pipeyard with pups until all the things are definitely absolutely fixed. Don't wanna discover a new part of the bug noone knew about!

They implemented a local save backup system on PS4/5, in case corruption happens it should recover your save
They did not fix the bug causing the corruption however

It's not really reliable considering someone had their data corrupted with no way of getting it back

Using a USB is very safe, I recovered my save from it once. I don't remember if you mentioned a reason you can't use USB previously though : )
The corruption is also quite rare in general, I've played for quite a long while now and it only happened to me twice total, so it's possible to just be lucky with it anyway!
I could not find any local backup after the second corruption despite it being implemented by that point I think. Not a clue where that is supposed to be.
ps5 version cant be backed up with a usb, i do use a usb for the ps4 version tho
also update to the expedition missions not having checkmarks when completed, i just finished hunter's mission on the ps5 version and i got the checkmark for it yet when i did it on the ps4 version i didnt get the checkmark for any mission, god i really hope the devs fix this game
just got the checkmark for survivor now too, i officially hate the playstation versions with how inconsistent these bugs on here are

Someone please help, my game will not stop crashing whenever I try to enter Shoreline. Like, I'm in the region, only I'm in the karma gate room. every time I try to go further, the game crashes. I've sheltered there, but when i try to go through the pipe, it crashes. Please help; its been like this for about half a week now

Yeah Jolly Co-op just weirdly breaks the game, which is unfortunate since it does add stuff like playing as any slug you'd like in vanilla campaigns and being a pup
It's something that you should be able to just keep on in the background and not be currently using

i made it through pipeyard with a pup in the secret campaign recently i just went from the start near industrial to subterranean in one cycle
My mistake was using the shelter just before the Filtration gate. Literally could've just skipped it and gone to the one inside Filtration.

The latest update was supposed to add a way to prevent your save from going bye-bye. However, they didn't say how to access it whatsoever if it can even be accessed
From what we know, there's no way to undo it
Even when the update launched, data corruption still happens and gave no way to get it back, essentially lying to us probably

i've been having somewhat consistent freezes in GW, spearmaster's campaign, in or near rooms featuring the Long Legs family (specifically GW_C9, GW_B05, and GW_E01)
sleeping in the shelter in C9 has resulted in an almost guaranteed freeze about 20 seconds after waking up, that i can only escape by setting up a pole climb fast enough to go out the top left exit
