Recommendations: Maybe do it in an area with more mobility for you, or in an area with less mobility for the KVs…? That or demasking them really helps, from my experience

If you can collect a good amount of spears

The middle pieces allows for you to spam them with spears

The way the work is that they make every other creature have much lower prey releation to them, meaning you are the preferred target most of the time, and they keep the demasked status even when the region is unloaded. Their crippled and pacified states are completely the same as before.

yeah, i know that they stayed demasked untill killed. I had survivor save where I had the same demasked vulture hunt me in industrial occasionally, when I would forget it even existed.

it's just that people kind of exxagerate demasked vulture behavior. "oooooh, it will hunt you down relentlessly and won't rest untill you're dead" and it's like nope, you can still make it back away and the hunt just means it will occasionally show up on some cycles.

i wouldnt worry much about someone relatively dismissing your DP challenge btw, we arent anywhere near considering adding them yet because we need to wait for consoles to actually get the mod, and give enough time for people to get done playing through it, which took maybe 2 weeks to a month for pc

To give some perspective we have what.. 30 now? Including downpour ones (once console releases) reaching something like 60 wouldn't be unreasonable at all in a couple of years time :'D

The fact that you can bring a cyan lizard, (really jumpy loud crashing angry squishy dog) through one of the most hostile areas in the game on a time limit, and then sneak it past giant mobile spiderwebs with great hearing, and then get it across these giant pits without it falling off, and then take it through zero g to meet pebbles.. the fact that that is possible purely from the creature's desire to follow you and your ability to partly control it is amazing :D it's such an emergent journey and really highlights how insane RW's design is

some challenges just like that, you will have a horrible experience somewhere because rng said so. I had this problem with chef where getting fish out of subterranean took me more attempts than going through all other regions combined.

I just don’t see the fun in guiding a toddler through the harshest areas of the game. It’s complete rng if the lizard will do what you’d like to to do. Whether it be sit still or save your ass from a silly mistake on your end. To me, that sounds more like gambling rather than a challenge, as a challenge by my definition is something to test one’s skills and proficiency in a subject or activity. Pilgrimage, is not that.
