Is there an 'exceptionLog.txt' file in the game's steam folder? If there is then that should show what's causing the problem.

Close the game and upload the exceptionLog.txt file that you can find on your root installation folder (next to the .exe, default Steam path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rain World).
To send the file, drag and drop it into the Discord window. Do not copy and paste the contents of the file.

If not then you should probably try checking if any of the game's files are missing or edited somehow with 'Verify integrity of game files...', and if that doesn't catch anything then reinstalling the game should do it.
