#Bepin and BOI not loading mods?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
heres my mod list
I've been trying to get DevTools to work, but anytime i press O to enable the devtools, nothing happens.
I tried to only enable the dev tools, and that didnt work either...
[pt] ...what version of rain world do you have?
how do i check
if you don't know then you're using the latest version which iirc is called 1.9
alrighty
the issue here is that you're trying to use mods that were made for 1.5, and also BOI which is for 1.5
how do i downgrade?
oooh
i see it
beta tab
ok yeah, the wikis never mentioned that
might wanna fix
thanks for the help!
well 1.9 came out like days ago so i guess just nobody's updated stuff yet
i think 1.7 and 1.8 existed but only on specific platforms
reinstall bepinex, the version you have probably still has stuff from 1.9 in it that will mess things up
ok i reinstalled from boi
did you manually delete the bepinex folder first
do that
i don't know
i'm not sure that ever says anything other than N/A
or maybe it does but just isn't doing that right now
well BOI's been updated several times
i mean i don't think BOI can ever be in a "not working" state unless it's like, crashed
other than if you haven't told it where the game is, but the "Path valid" indicates that you have
alright its reinstalled, so what is config machine and enum
will those mess up the devtool
they're fine
really wish there was descriptions for mods in boi
they're included because a lot of other mods depend on them
configmachine provides in-game mod config menus
and enumextender does basically nothing by itself, but provides some stuff that other mods can use to do things
i'm being kind of vague because it's inherently a pretty technical thing
it doesn't even touch the game, it's basically a generic .NET modding tool packaged as a mod
my saves are gone
they probably aren't
1.9 uses a different save location
%APPDATA%/../LocalLow/Videocult/Rain World according to the announcement in #server-announcements
although i wouldn't recommend trying to load a 1.9 save with 1.5 because they might have incompatible formats
tysm for the help, hopefully the mod wiki is updated, so you guys dont have more confused dumbos like me asking questions
in the worst case it might "kind of load" but be messed up, save wrong, and the save would get actually corrupted
cheers
i mostly was going to play with the simulation with devtools
experiment with the ai
yeah that makes sense, rain world's ai is very detailed
cants see my mouse cursor on devtools
i've read the code and there's so much going on
like, creatures make decisions on which of several things (threats, prey, rain, help friends, investigate noises, ...) to do first, based on each one having a formula of how important it is
odd
devtools might just not even be trying to enable the cursor
oh huh
uh
iirc if you play in windowed mode it shows the cursor?
so you could use that as a workaround
...i didn't think devtools had a way to spawn anything
wha?
is there a way to unlock all the sandbox things?
if you cant spawn AI then how did they test the game
sounds like a headache...
put this in the Levels folder
various things, i don't know all of it
huh
they weren't really intended to be used by players so they're probably somewhat random and hacked together
well we have mods :)
you can use beastmaster to spawn stuff in
i can't find it but i'm pretty sure there's a mod that makes you immortal
what's "wemod"?
a game cheating client
lets you code inject games
basically its a easy way to cheat in various single player games
its like cheatengine for dummies
huh
...considering that i haven't heard of it, that sounds like it might have weird bugs and/or be incompatible
maybe but wort ha shot
since theres not really a godmode mod
maybe the dev console mod?
idk
im shocked theres not a way to grant invincibility in the devtools
seems like a obvious inclusion
apparently the devs just never needed it?
might be hidden
under a odd name
OH
beastmaster revives you when you open the quickspawn
...huh
yeah i guess that might happen
scavenger ai is... complicated, so being suddenly spawned in the middle of nowhere might have confused them
nope nvmd
hmmmmmmmmmm
dont @ me
sorry
