#Snow Story

Yeee
[
]
A flat surface, huh?
"Sure?"
I guess I'll hazard listening to them...
I flop into the snow.
<perspective: π΄ >
So, throwing something upward is kinda hard. It's not gonna clear the height and retain the force it needs to go boom. I have strong arms, but it'd be a waste to only use my arm muscles.
So, I jump onto the blue guy's back and do a backflip. This puts a lot more force into my throw. My entire body is rotating, so it's adding to the... Eh, you get the idea.
Spear go fly up.
I'm smart, okay?
<perspective: π΅ >
. . .
They jump onto my back, fucking, ow??
I turn over as soon as they clear off, wiping snow from my face. "Okay, what'd that accomplish?"
They had become nigh unkillable.
I look up in sheer terror.
The spider is holding the spear.
Did they just catch it?
Split up before it drops the spear!
You freeze. You can't move.
.
at the time of closing, the result was: 4-1
[
]
We became complacent.
They did not.
I keep my wits and break into a full sprint, heading toward the construction site to cut line of sight in the scaffolding.
Red doesn't make nearly as much distance, only clearing the immediate drop area under the spider...
It reels back the arm holding the spear.
It chucks the bomb spear right at you!
It chucks the bomb spear right at Red!
[
]
We forgot how to adapt.
They did not.
I ride a pipe up toward the top of the building.
I hear a boom from below...
A hiss from Red lets me know they've survived, but I have no idea if they're actually okay.
I hop my way across some unfinished supports, making my way to a spot a bit of a ways above the spider.
I can't see where Red is from here.
The heights are getting to me, and the wind is threatening to pick up and blow me off.
I have to focus.
π½ Throw the rock down at the spider.
β¬ Throw your spear at it.
Jump down on it and stab the eyes!
You hesitate. It's a big freaky spider, you don't want to draw its attention...
[ β¬ ]
Our weapons needed not adapt, for they were superior by nature.
As immortal as the stone we built our new home with.```
It's struck by the spear, an eye successfully pierced. 7 other eyes turn toward me, widening fully.
I retreat away from the edge, leading it up the side.
I have a few moments before it arrives.
This thing is intelligent... I better play carefully.
 Hide in the supports. You want to lose aggro.
 Prepare yourself by searching the area for another throwable. A rock won't do.
 Red comes up the pipe, joining your side. You'll need their help for this fight.
.
i'm formatting the votes a bit differently now
experimenting with this system

okay, so i've discovered the major flaw with this system
I don't see why we can't but it feels like taboo to talk
so, basically, you're meant to pick one(1) positive thing to occur
all three of those are meant to be beneficial; their effect is guaranteed
ah k
the problem is, you guys are able to simply multivote and skew it
cgp grey?
But voting system
Vote for what you're okay with, not just what you want
uhhh so you can pick at random
Or we could actually vote one thing
i guess this style is also bad because guaranteeing an effect makes it less. exciting? less unknowns
is that a good or bad thing?
which is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
they hide in the supports, they will lose aggro
they search, they will find one
or, red arrives and... y'know, they're there
but you have to pick one
eh, i'll scrap that, it sounds bad now that i've explained it
i'm trying to better balance voting.
forcing you guys to pick negatives instead of good things would be effective, since you definitely don't want a triple whammy
but... that kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth?

I mean just try to give each option a good and bad way for it to go

If we only get two options I'm OK with that
if we run into a situation with a lot of possible answers, we could just call a discuss
[
]
But what of living metal..?
Red emerges from the elevator pipe.
I breathe a sigh of relief, though I don't break eye contact with the spider. "You okay??"
"Not yet." They grunt, rubbing their snout.
They've got two spears again.
One normal, and one with a boomfern tied near the business end. A makeshift bomb spear.
It focusses all 7 remaining eyes directly at me, not even acknowledging Red's existence. Intelligent, perhaps, but it seems to have limited attention....
Distract it and have Red make the kill shot.
If Red misses, you'll get grabbed.
Have Red serve as distraction. Take the bomb spear and do it yourself.
You're more likely to miss than Red.
[
]
"Red, head to the side, just behind me." I direct. "I'm gonna hold the aggro."
"Alhhrright. Lead it left." Red responds, running on all fours across a beam.
I hop between supports, steadying my arm to chuck a rock at the searching spider. It clinks off of an eyelid, and it suddenly picks up the pace, charging toward me. Its eyes are wide open, dead locked on me.
Uh... It's running..!
<perspective: π΄ >
Wait, no, they're moving way too fast. And this is a really bad angle. Their floppy legs are in the way, I can't get a hit like this.
"UuuhhHH, RED?!!" They stumble back, trying to make distance from the rapidly approaching spider.
Okay, if I don't hit that thing dead in the face, it's gonna catch Blue. But I'm losing ground to run on...
Between catching spears and running, I think I hate these surface spiders way more.
Help me out here.
Make the throw and hope.
It won't stop if it only hits a leg.
Jump toward the edge of the building to correct the angle fast enough.
If you slip and fall from this height...
.
see, learning moments like these usually get you killed in funny rain world
but death isn't an option here
so it's gonna end up a bunch of really close calls for these surprise moves
[
]
Steady as I can...
It hits a leg and blows it clean off, and manages to knock Blue off their feet with the blast. They grab the pole they fall off of, but get swept up by one of the spider's weird sticky pads instead.
"Ah!"
"GET IT OFF MEeeE!!"
Uugh, I was afraid they'd be a screamer. Better not have woken up those other freaks.
"Relax, I got it!" I hiss, stabilizing myself.
Uh... Do I got it??
Throw your other spear. You have a much better chance now.
Run in there and charge that stupid thing's face!
[
]
Okay.
Okay, okay...
"RE--EeED!!"
Calm.
Calm...
Guide my arm.
I jump forward, driving the rod straight through one of the main eyes of the spider. It seems to deal some critical damage, because it seizes up and drops Blue, falling a good distance.
I think what actually kills it is the head slamming into some scaffolding. It gives off a painful crack and remains still, hanging from its legs tangled in the supports.
Blue clings to a pole, shivering.
"Ghhh, hate spiders, h-haaaate spiders..."
Are they okay?
You don't care. Lunch time, finally!
conflicted?
gonna wait for a second opinion
[
]
I dive and swing through the supports, until I'm close enough to start taking chunks out of the spider.
βββββββββ
βββββββββ```
But when I dig through it enough, I find... Metal?
This thing's skeleton is made of metal?
 Cut into the head. What's going on here?
 Crazy world we live in, huh?

I thought they said you can't hurt metal, or something.
I put my weight on the rod embedded in its eye to pry open the skull. It shoots a few sparks at me.
I expect the usual, like... Blood and guts? But it doesn't bleed, nor does it really have... Guts? Well, it has guts of some sort, but they don't look like, meaty guts.
I don't really know what I'm looking at here, but somehow it makes me uncomfortable.
Do some more digging around in there. Maybe there's something useful inside.
You got what you needed, just leave it alone.
[
]
Are you sure I should..?
Ehh...
Fuck it. I push my arm inside, grabbing whatever I can.
I feel a few different things in here...
β Pull out the rubbery stringy stuff.
β Pull out a thin metal sheet thingy.
β¬ Pull out a strange sticky cube.
[ β¬ ]
It's... A squishy, sticky cube.
Doesn't seem very useful at all, really.
It sticks to my hands, but I can drop it if I try hard enough.
Squish it.
Just hang on to it for now.
You should definitely eat it, that's a good idea.
EAT IT
there, added the option
blessed tofu!!!!!
it is not blessed tofu
blursed tofu?
Spider Tofu - (-5)HP
It appears to be... some part of a robotic organism.
Edible, but not tasty. Nor good for you.
gonna wait for a second opinion on this
Red becomes a tentacle monster
[
]
sigh.
Do I really have to..?
Guhhh. Stupid question.
Okay, just... It's like any other weird food, right? Just don't think about it.
The moment I try to close my mouth around it, it launches a length of thick rope at a high speed.
Upon touching the supports, it binds immediately.
Is this the thing that makes spider silk..?
I tug on the cube with both hands, testing the strength of this rope. It feels like it could support my full weight. Maybe this'll come in handy around here, what with the heights and smart spiders 'n stuff.
I shoot at a pole, tie the silk around my waist, and stick the cube to my side like a belt holster.
Oh, right. Blue.
They're still clung to the pole...
"...hate spiders..."
Are they alright?
What a baby. You guys have places to be.
[
]
"C'mon, blue guy, we got places to be." I tell them. "We still gotta find you food, y'know."
At least hunting for plants won't be as dangerous.
"r-Right..." Blue nods, scratching their head. "I-I know, give me a second."
They stand up, letting off a breath.
"...I feel all icky and gross, it grabbed me..." They mutter, wiping their fur. "Guhh."
"Well, now it's dead." I assure. "No more icky spider."
"Right," They nod, finally collecting themself. "i-It's dead, gone."
<perspective: π΅ >
"You ate?" I ask, and Red nods.
"Alright. Let's head..."
I know North is less crowded, and the South is rather dense. I'd suppose a source of plants or other non-meat food could be in either direction.
β¬οΈ North, toward the less crowded side of the city.
β¬οΈ South, where the city is really dense.
β What about the lab? There's still something here.
well we could not find food and starve
Or find predator and die
Or explore lab that likely has no edible items inside
the less dense area could lead to a farm
just as the more dense area could lead to a grocery store or other untouched food supply
either option allows for some world building
.
the lab is more for lore; why this happened
we live in a society
[ β ]
The desire for knowledge is linked with the desire for power.```
*"Hrm."*
I pause, looking over the building.
The first thing that comes to mind is more *spiders.* But...
*"Don't tell me you want to go in there."* Red dreads. *"We're not going."*
*"It's not even that I want to."* I express, though I feel as though I can't begin to.
This energy is intense.
**<perspective: π΄ >**
What are they talking about?
 Maybe they have a guide, just like you. Following it would be wise.
 They're crazy. They want to explore that place after what you just went through?
a what now
[
]
Something like you?
"You're sure it's in that hellhole?" I question, eyeballing the strange building.
"And besides, what about food?"
<perspective: π΅ >
That's true, isn't it?
ββββ|ββββ
I need to find that food source.
β You should explore now. You'll have time for food later.
Preserve yourself. Go find food. It's not time.

[ β ]
Hrm.
ββββ|ββββ
"Let's... Go now." I huff, hopping over to the elevator pipe. "Like you said, no time to waste."
<perspective: π΄ >
Why would it take them to a literal death trap?
Is this some kind of test?
I trust you before I trust them.
Follow them. They'll need the help.
You should convince them to take care of themself first.
We're greedy for lore
it's since shifted, but outcome unchanged
[
]
Alright... Let's move.
We scale the side without issue.
So far, so good.
We meet at the top, where a large hole leads into...
Pitch black.
I feel a constant flow of warm air coming from inside, like there's a fire or radiator running, but I could swear there's just no light in there.
Afraid of the dark? Take the lead.
Hey, Blue seemed confident, make them go first.
Jump down together. No way this can be bad.
[
]
<perspective: π΅ >
It speaks in symbols we cannot see,
Sounds we cannot hear.```
*"Ain't afraid of the dark."* Red shrugs, and takes a short hop into the pit.
I take a deep breath, and follow...
π¦ You fall a long distance into a pool of water.
β€΅οΈ You land shortly after hopping down.
...i couldn't find a better symbol for water...
?
We want to make blue suffer
why is this spoilered lmaO
itβs a spoiler for the title screen, which requires you to play through the first 5 seconds of the game!1!
ah i see
for those who want a Truly Blind playthrough
I've been spoiled I will never forgive u all

I will never get those first 5 seconds back
[ π¦ ]
As I'm falling, I'm wrapped in thick, humid air that threatens to suffocate me. I recognize this feeling; This is the dense air of the Caverns.
The rapid descent makes my head swim...
Weightlessness.
I can't see the bottom, if there is one.
And then... Water?
I think this is water. I instinctively hold my breath, but I had drawn little air before being submerged. I know to wriggle my way to the surface, but this stuff is heavy, and it stings my eyes...
The water immediately around me pulses with my faint blue light.
You bring yourself to the surface.
Red pulls you up.
i want red character arc now!1!
pff
fair nuff
I demand character development
"hey you, you're finally awake"
[
]
I feel a sudden tugging force, and I emerge, flopping onto a pile of trash.
I shake my fur to fling off what I can, as the weight of the water combined with the choking humidity is too much to bear.
"You never swam before?" Red asks, shielding their face from my shake-drying.
"No," I heave, "I don't come down deep enough."
"You look like me when I went to the surface." They comment, squeezing water out of their pelt coat. "How the table turns."
Yeah, whatever...
And as I turn my head, I see an array of glowing eyes. Fun!
π The strange creature speaks.
π It stares into you, unmoving.
[ π ]
Red nearly jumps out of their fur when they see it, flipping back and landing on all fours with a spear poised. "Fuck is that?!"
I back up a couple steps, equipping my own.
It's not moving.
Attack it!
Back up slowly...
Hello?
those seem sensible enough to combine
should i combine 2 and 3?
if they get the same votes is what i meant
it would be easy
hello on its own would be more confident in a lack of danger, both of them would be less confident in that but still trying to communicate
alas now the ello got more vote
[COMBINATION:
and
]
"hhHello?" I call to the creature, taking careful steps in the opposite direction.
In response to my voice, a spotlight pierces the darkness, flooding the area. I'm blinded for the moment, before my eyes adjust...
A large spider, laying on the ground. Its legs are surrounding a group of smaller spiders, who poke their eyeball-covered heads at us curiously, each in different shades of reddish pink.
The larger spider, presumably the mother, watches us with squinting eyes. I can see parts of their legs where their metal skeleton is exposed.
They look... Weak.
Piles of discarded robotic parts and misshapen metal pieces lie about in piles.
"He--llo, sma-a-all creaturess." They greet, in a broken, robotic voice. "Are you in--in need of assssssissstann-tance?"
They look like they need help. (quest)
You're not sure you trust a spider.
Ask them about the area. You're looking for something, after all.
[
]
I relax my stance a little.
This is... Well, a mother, caring for her young. An intelligent one, maybe even feeling, just like us.
"Are you sure that you... Don't need help yourself?" I ask, tilting my head.
They emit a coarse, chitterish sound, shifting their legs a little. "It is al--alrright. I'm ssserving m--my purpose." They assure, tightening their hold around the small ones.
"Food?" I ask.
"My counter--terpart is hhunting." They reply.
Oh. Uhhhh. Oh no.
I see Red blink, eyes shifting.
Tell them the truth.
β Well, what if they don't come back..?
Let's change the subject. (miss quest)
Welp
WHAT KILLED THE DAD
WE DID
didn't mean to reply
This is slightly awkward
WE DID
the spider that almost killed us
"Uhhh, we may or may not have killed and eaten your counterpart"
we killed it and ate its flesh
yes
tasty robotic flesh
family dinner
[ β ]
"Well..."
"What if they do not come back?" I ask.
"Then," The Mother blinks, "Well, then we sta--aarve." They say softly.
"Can we help? What do you eat?" I question.
"Any--ythinng. Plant, or mm--meat."
Let's do it. We owe them this at the least.
Oopsie daisy. Let's leave.
I want to help out these silly little robot spiders
we spend all the time coming for lor, we aren't leavin
Maybe we'll make some fren
and blue still hasn't eaten
tru,
[
]
"We'll come back with food." I nod, looking to Red. I see them glare at me for a moment, but they remain silent.
"Thank you, k--kinnd souls." They chitter.
"Alright. I know this place best, so stick to me." Red commands. "Let's make this quick. I can't be here any longer than you can, Blue."
"Right." I huff.
I'll have to manage my stamina carefully. This area is hot and humid for me.
<perspective: π΄ >
The moment we get out of earshot of the spider, I turn to hiss at Blue.
"You want to feed fucking spiders? And make me do the work, right?"
They defend their position angrily.
They appeal to the soft side that you try to lack.
[
]
"It's the right thing to do," They attempt, "We probably killed their dad, Red, they're going to starve. And, I'll do it, if it makes you less peeved."
"So what?" I hiss.
"They're disgusting freaks of nature. Just because they had babies doesn't make them any less terrible."
"Yeah? Well, you're terrible, but I fed you." Blue retorts.
"You fed me because I'm useful to you." I growl. "I held back on..."
You held back on killing and eating Blue because they proved useful.
You stop yourself. You don't want them to know this.
time to break up!!! :)
[
]
"Hell, when I first got there, I was just gonna kill and eat you then. But you've been too useful to get rid of." I admit.
"So, what, you'll finally kill me when you have everything you need?" Blue asks, turning to face me.
Pretty much.
Well...
[
]
Well...
I...
"I mean, it'd make sense, right?" They shrug, poking a stray insect with their spear. They're making that... Stupid fucking face at me. Those eyes.
Or am I the stupid one?
Of course it's logical. You'd kill them if it at all benefitted you, that's how you function.
Just go find a lizard or something. You don't want to show your guts like this, it makes you feel weak.
[
]
"Shut up." I mutter, heading down the tunnel.
I can't figure out what I'm thinking, and I hate it. There shouldn't be anything complicated about it, but they... Make it complicated.
I don't want to hurt them.
I don't think I could make myself do it.
That makes me feel weak.
<perspective: π΅ >
Red looks... Uncomfortable?
I guess we're done talking, then.
We make our way further in.
A large open area presents itself, with arrays of pipes and supports I recognize as climbable.
A boiler is running here.
Using what fuel source, I've no idea, but it's making the area hot.
π¦ A red lizard is basking in the heat. They notice you and start climbing the wall.
πͺ΄ Some planters are set up here with a variety of different fruits. Something is hiding behind them.
hm. maybe i should've given option 2 a bad thing.

bothe
changed option 2 to have a little surprise
Curiosity time
i want to continue this tonight but my brain will not allow me to focus
mind too bouncy
gonna pick up in the mornin
mmmmm not die?))
we need more snow story
Rip (maybe)
Correx left us behind
(Tbf Iβd leave me behind too)
Correx come back!1! I wanna play Discord DnD again
I didnt realize this story stopped for a bit, now I'm sad
Im sorry
i dreamt correx came back π))
what do we want to put behind the planters?
HES BACK
oh god
i'm melting like a snowman because funny fever but i am indeed here
actually, i got an idea for a thingy
Welcome back :))
[ πͺ΄ ]
As we get closer, a 4 limbed thing with an animal skull over its face jumps over the planters, brandishing a pair of explosive spears and shouting in a language I can't discern.
I dive away, but it pays no attention to me, locking sights with Red instead.
It looks like a scavenger, like one of a few I'd seem glimpses of toward the surface, but this one has scrap plates secured over its limbs and torso. It also lacks fur, instead covered in heavy scales like a lizard.
A belt of grenades is tied around their waist.
I could swear there's a hint of a glow behind their eyes...
<perspective: π΄ >
"Begone from our home, or perish like the rest!" They shout, waving their spears. I know that language, I used to be pretty close with them.
This one is young, way too ahead of themselves. Strapped with nades, it would take one odd hit to turn them into a cracklefern, armor be damned.
Easy target, one and done. No harm in cutting back the weeds.
It'd be kinda cruel... Just leave.
They're nothing. Intimidate them! You want that belt of nades for yourself.
I think it's wrong that I want murder but
well there's really no way to justify that
[
]
<perspective: π >
That's the demon dad told me about.
The Red Slugcat.
I'm face to face with them.
They're smiling at me, and I hate it.
"This is a joke."
"Look. I'll spare your worthless soul if you drop those grenades and fuck off."
"What do you say?"
Running away would be cowardice.
I take a deep breath...
Just give them what they want and go home. It's not worth it.
β Threaten them back. You're well-armed and protected, they should be the one fleeing.
π₯ Attack! Throw everything! AAA!
