I Can’t find him either. Not sure if it’s a bug or I’m blind!! Found his hat, but then nothing in the area.

There should be footprints visible for you. You might have a problem when playing at daytime + footprints disappear after some time. So if you used survivor sense to discover footprints and run away, you might miss them after that

i restarted game footprints are shown now

I did try at night to see if any trail but nothing shows up :(. Will give it another try.
