You don't want to be spotted by the Volatiles until you get near a Bolter to kill one. Once you manage to kill it and obtain its loot, you just got to run to the nearest safehouse. No matter what you do, as long as you kill a Bolter, Volatiles will come after you. So just run and parkour your way to the nearest safehouse.

If you haven't secure the nearest safehouse relative to the Bolters' Nest, you should probably do that first. That way, you can go to the nearest Bolter quickly without exposing yourself to the Volatiles for too long and escape out of there the fastest

early game, you pretty much are stuck with grey, green, blue weapons

when you get mid game, thats when you can find purple and orange weapons

you can also buy them from vendors

also blueprints, thats the main point of making your weapon stronger

you can start it from a poster next to the fast travel point in old town in the tower or at the tower next to the merchant with the glasses on the first floor

I find machetes the best compared to knives etc. I don't particularly look at stats, i look for the rarest ones, the most expensive and add modifications. I play on story mode, still need to go up a difficulty. Been playing for over 2 years 😅
