I always try to avoid fighting Hakon, I like leaving with him in my endings. He’s my favorite character and use his skin all the time, it’s really the only one I use

When playing co op I used to use Hakon if the person I joined was on the survivor path and if they were on the PK path I’d play as Aitor or Rowe

Yeah I like to play my role, I immerse myself in the games I play and I try to compliment the person I help out so it seems like Hakon / Aitor is helping Aiden on his journey, i tend to follow their lead so if they go stealth I’ll go stealth and if they go loud I’ll do the same. Helpin people is what makes co op so much fun, I’ll often drop UV bars as flares to light the way if they’re lost or confused. Just little things like that.

Yeah Im doing the same/except the outfit part/always playing behind the host... letting them do most of the kills... babysitting them and reviving them along the way 🙂

You would have to be picking up the collectibles, if the person your playing with picks them up it doesn’t count for you so the only way it’d be easier is if they know where they all are and are taking you to them but there’s a lot of collectibles so that’s probably not gonna happen. But there’s a lot of missable collectibles so maybe it meant by joining someone who has the quest collectibles you missed you can get them rather than playing through multiple times

Yeah that was the issue like the carriers collectibles and I think a survivor mission one but I picked PKs so I couldn't get it

And one of The tapes are glitched i never got it even though I did the mission I didn't receive it it was the stolen valor mission I believe

I’m pretty sure for the carrier quest line it’s once you get captured by Aitor an interrogated. After you leave that room there will be a carrier you can talk to that will start the quest like and then again on the PK floating fortress

But if you miss the them they’ll eventually go away locking you out of the quest line, I had to play through multiple times to get all collectibles but i initially planned on doing that anyways to see all the different paths. You can also go to the co op menu and if you see anyone on the quest you need you can join their game and try to get it that way. I’ve had a few people join me and ask if they could run around grabbing stuff so I let them get what they needed.

Co op would be the fastest way, the problem would be finding people on that exact quest that’s why I said check the co op menu because it’ll show what quest the person is on and you can join randoms. But worst case you will have to play through 2-3 times.

It has less content and a bit shorter story but mechanically it's a very big improvement

There's also less places to parkour unfortunately other than one district

The grappling hook is much better as it now carries your momentum

So you can swing like Spider-Man

There’s impact bolts that make enemies go flying back but they’re not explosive. They work the same way the fling mod on your melee weapons work. And as far as I know Fire bolts are locked behind a paywall unless they’ve changed it

But everyone is their own person if they want to one shot by all means they can do whatever they want. I personally wouldn’t want to play the game that way it’s not enjoyable for me

I usually play the quick match since it’s faster and only 5 floors. I got up to rank 14 petty quickly to get the silenced pistol, I did one normal raid on nightmare difficulty that had 9 floors and that took a good bit of time. I still need to try to “elite” version of it.

Never had an enemy die by pulling them once unless it was off a high enough drop or onto spikes/water. but I have killed an enemy using only the hook, takes a good min but if you keep hooking the same infected it’ll eventually die because the hook does a tiny bit of damage 😅

My favorite Virals so far are the one in The Beast, they’re the most realistic in terms of design. They actually look like freshly turned humans, in DL1 they look like biters who’ve been dead awhile and DL2s look more fresh but I don’t like the blisters everywhere I’m glad they did away with the blisters.

They’re just regular biters that have loot on them, presumably they were scavengers before turning and died with their pack on them. They’re like Bolters but the biter version similar to how the gold armored biters have ammo and regular ones don’t

They’re dotted around the map you can usually find them all over. At night you can point them out by the lantern that’s still lit on their backpack but they spawn day and night.

I usually find them in the center more often. It’s not a super common infected type since they drop good stuff. Maybe they don’t spawn in old Villedor I can’t recall if I’ve found them there or not but they definitely spawn in the center.

You can try and finish the lost armory quest fast so that you can start Jai’s missions. The crates will you give a legendary weapons from iirc. I got a level 6 weapon when I was level 4nfor example

Eh nightmare on DL2 is actually pretty easy, Dying Light the Beast nightmare however, is a legit nightmare 😅

Now playing Nightmare on DL2 on your first fun is a bit wild, you start off incredibly weak in this game so yeah that would be a decent challenge.

I don't find Nightmare in DLTB is something worse than DL2. Actually, if not for that unbalanced scratch dmg from stumbling degenerates that equals volatile slashes, I'd say it is way easier. Also, Alpha is a Joke compared to Tyrant

It is another stry that in DL2 most players use glitched crap to deal with nightmare difficuly

Not even comparable, not only is it harder in general, enemies have more health and do much more damage than enemies in DL2. There’s also the hunger bar and battery life that add to the difficulty on top of it being pitch black and during chases it’s nothing but volatiles on top of an alpha volatile. DL2 nights are so bright you don’t even need a flashlight most the time unless your in a building, sure the tyrant volatile is harder to kill than the alpha but that’s about it

Harder difficulties in games don't even offer anything unique other than "this npc will now deal 1010102 dmg instead of 20"

The beast has a hunger bar you have to keep full, battery life for your flashlight as well, and there’s an alpha volatiles. So it’s not just enemies have more health an do more damage there’s unique gameplay features you can only experience on nightmare.

And you get some nice rewards for completing it

The only games where hard difficulty feels hard are Shadow of Mordor and Shadow or War. Because the Nemesis system makes your opponents actually adapt to your tactics in real time, forcing you to change the way you play, or die. And I'm saying this because I've been a victim of this system a dozen times.

It sucks that WB never used it again and shut down the studio that developed it

Tanky enemies don't mean much if Crits are unbalanced. and crit weapon (mostly 1H machetes) deals a ridiculous amount of dmg, soon it procs

Still isn’t comparable, that’s not to say DL2 nightmare is a walk in the park because it’s not, it still offers some challenge but it pales in comparison to The Beast, I have 500 hours on DL2 and 350+ on TB I’ve played them enough to know and the majority of people say the same thing, Techland themselves stated TB nightmare is the hardest difficulty they’ve added.

Yeah I’ve been playing DL2 so I don’t burn myself out on TB, I put the 350+ hours back to back it’s all I played since it came out until recently when I got back into DL2, I’ll eventually move on from this and replay DL1 while waiting for TB updates

I have a serious addiction to the DL games 😅 was glued to the first one for a few years then finally stopped playing, surprisingly I waited about a year to play DL2 because I was hearing negative things about it but once I actually played it I was beyond hooked and it’s all I played until a month or 2 before The Beast came out. Same thing with the Beast it’s basically all I’ve played since it’s came out and I’m only now taking a break on it after 350+ hours. And I’m taking a break to play DL2 so it’s still DL 😂
