Well dying light does have content to get invested into. Just doing side quests between main missions. As some story progress can lock out certain side missions I think. Also the goal was to never make lv300 on first playthrough. The xp multiplyer increases per ng+ can't remember to what though been a while since I grinded levels.

So... Dying Light 2 has been glitching a lot for me, and it's made me hate the game a lot more.

Sometimes... textures don't render for minutes at a time when I load in, sometimes the sounds randomly cut out... even through reloads or fast travel. And sometimes, the main menu theme plays IN game and nothing else.
