It's definitely a bug, same thing happened to me with Plague and Pirate. I got a copy of the correct weapon, so I have one Pumpkin Spice Plague Staff or whatever it's called, and one Pumpkin Spice Cutlass, but the blueprints for both just make the Pumpkin Spice Harvester

It's very hard at first but the perks actually make a world of difference. I went from wiping on floor 2 and 3 100% of the time to finishing solo runs with Tank, Plague, and Pirate today

The drops in chests are semi-random but I always get a gun in the chest you get after the Demummy fight on Floor 2 and almost every time it's an SMG. I've gotten a Handgun once or twice there though.

That's the other big piece of advice I have; loot every chest because the weapons in them are huge damage increases. They have really low durability so you have to be smart about when you use them but they melt enemies and bosses
