So, I decided to challenge myself and beat the game on hard without any upgrades, skill points or inhibitors. I thought I was going to be soft locked somewhere because of low stamina or get bored easily but 7 hours later and I am almost in the end and I gotta say, it feels refreshing somehow. I found new ways of reaching places and beating certain areas or enemies. It was closer to a survival experience where almost everything could kill me. Will I do it again? probably not but it was an interesting playthrough. All problems it had or still has aside, this game still amazes me after 600 hours.

Passed the game so 2 times. Now I pass 3 times, but this time there is still a condition (Only with the weapon Scorpio and without the skill upgrading

I was even able to climb the tower without upgrading in just 1 playthrough, for which the game recommended 500+ stamina

And also still upgraiding goes for each level of Aiden (Increases for story missions) he gets like 20 HP and stamina.

Since its 180 health once you finish the prologue you should be at 100 health which means you should only need to get 3 inhibitors to upgrade once in health to be at 180 i think i forgot how the inhibitors mechanic worked you could just need to find one or find 3 to upgrade in health once

Anyways Guns were (relatively) recently added to DL2. Game is only balanced around it's addition through damage numbers and hp bars opposed to it's use in combat.
Bows and Crossbows have their place opposed with guns because ranged buff from armors don't apply to firearms.
