Dude the combat vs people with 2 handed hammers is ridiculously animation based. Can’t interrupt their attack, and when they inevitably hit you you’re basically stun locked for 2 more hits

you arent stunlocked for the 2 additional hits, you can dodge, and i think throwing knives inturrupt

they're primarily defeated by the dodge skill, parkour attacks, good positioning, and inflicting status effects

which can be as simple as "huck a molotov at their feet and beat the shit out of them while they burn"

you have to beat them with either out-menuevering or alternate means of damage

which primarily come down to movement and parkour attacks

treating this game like a normal hack n slash where you lock onto an enemy and trade blocks and blows is incorrect, utilize your mobility and run around, run away to break line of sight and get ontop of something for a drop attack, perfect dodge into chances to back up and re-engage

ive been playing nightmare ng+ where 2 brute attacks can kill me and when fighting a group of renegades i literally cannot just play the game of "wack em till death combat"

ive had to learn how to run around the fight and pick targets and stunlock groups as much as possible

right during or before the attack would hit, you gotta get used to the different attack animations and timings. it also gives you iframes so often times you wanna do it like, as you're about to be hit so you just phase through the attack

all you need to watch out for is depleting their white bar below their hp bar, when its depleted you can instakill them

if you want a weapon that you can use for anything, machetes and axes are a good start

also, never skip out on uv bars that are on sale from vendors, theyll save your life more than you can count

In the Bazaar you can buy all the crafting materials from vendors and walk out and walk back in and their stock will be refilled. If you don’t have access to the bazaar you can go to the PK ship buy the vendors stock and sleep twice and they’ll be restocked.

crit one-handed weapons deal way more dmg then that even though their base dmg numbs rarely reach 760. slow dmg 2h weapon is good only if u are 1 on 1 with the enemy. (exeptions: polearms and scorpio)
