Normally not, the point of NG+ is to replay a game save that you have . But on PC you can start a new game save, and then copy and rename another save to the same name as the new save file has.

I've been using bows with 80% ranged weapon damage increase from stats and max legend level and zombies still don't go down in 1 hit on nightmare.
Hell, bows still deal LESS damage than 1handed weapons without any 1h weapon damage bonuses from gear.

Just don't use the fast travel if you don't want to? No one is forcing you to use them, certainly not the game.

I do use it, but I like to role play that I can only use it from inside one metro to another.
