Its easy enough navigating at night, but doing some bounties or missions is alot harder

Even with the normal hag mission I think there's a normal banshee that spawns in the generator area underneath the metro. Could try there so you don't gotta deal with Renegades

I ain't been able to unlock the missions yet. The Ticket System is weird as hell, & some of harper's Bounties don't increase, like the special infected one. I killed tons of elemental goons in one night

Yea unfortunately that's the 'easiest' way to encounter a banshee 100% from my knowledge; Yards are another; one of the firearm challenges is in a yard that can spawn up to 2 banshees so you could try there

Nighttime as it is rn, really doesn't want you to fight at night, so trying to do stuff without having to carefully navigate the Volatiles to not be caught is hard

I could put all my legend points into weapon damage, but it makes the rest of the game way easier

Or i could max out my Crossbow Damage, to make killing them from a distance easier

Yea I get that, even at max level I try to avoid Volatiles more than fight (makes it more fun tbh), I'm sure there's bushes you can try and use your survivor sense from to spot them

Careful if you do try this, pretty sure Volatiles instantly start a chase upon being hit. Happened to me no matter how stealthy I am

Because as far as I recall it was stated in the lore that ground level is pretty much dead, vegetation wise, because all the chemicals seeped into the ground

(which is why the butcher opening the floodgates was also that dangerous, since it would wash the chemicals above ground again)

The Genmod Blocker after all was designed to eliminate the disease, and if not highly concentrated shouldnt be too harmful to humans, Aiden could easily survive in a closed off, sealed room with the chemicals in the air etc

Ik its aiden but still, that concentration in the open city will be way less than it is in a airtight sealed room with barrels of the concentrated chemical

But we dont know a lot on how animals react to it, the most logical assumption would be that they can handle way less of the toxin than humans can

(altough weve seen some animal reactions to it in the banshee comic I think)

Talking about banshee, I love how the "cure" in the banshees necklace just ceased to exist

Tbh while you're right about the "you don't have to play" I think that if that's the main reason the difficulty is higher then yeah Id be disappointed. I think bullet sponge mechanics have been widely unpopular beyond even DL2. What would make it more interesting is newer enemies exclusive to nightmare, and existing ones having harder to counter move sets in their arsenal (not like the viral leap though) and instead of increasing health just make it to where both the player and the enemies are squishy enough to make small mistakes punishing to kill you outright or delete most your HP with way less medicine, healing supplies and military medkit spawns? Anything other then bullet sponge.

I think the bloodlines DLC final boss is one of the better examples of a boss feeling threatening but also counter able with it's move sets

Yeah they should really fix that, but I also don't like the attack inherently because when it hits you it feels like a mini cutscene.
