Late 2022, after saving for months and working my butt off I finally got myself a PS5, I spend the evening setting it up and getting the settings perfect with my HDR TV, and after messing around with Astro's playhouse for a bit, I move over to the online store and pick the first true game to play on this new console. Horizon forbidden West?, RDR2, MW2, Ragnarok?. No, I choose Dying light 2, the first game was my childhood for a year and a half, I explored every inch of that game, and had done my damnedest to avoid spoilers for the sequel. And after a long and arduous playthrough I didn't pick up my controller for weeks. I even thought about selling off my PS5. But now, 2 years later, I've finally redownloaded, and I wanna know from the community, what reasons should I give this game a second chance?

What do you guys think the odds are that techland will make dlc2 more focused on horror? I do not like the current approach with dying light 2 with it being more action-oriented in gameplay.. I liked the horror aspect of the first game. I just hope eventually we stop the agent narrative with firearms recently being introduced by watcher jai. Infected feel underutilized. It kinda feels like they are catering to the casual fans of dying light. I'm Praying more infected variants are added. Not copypastes like fucking elemental-infected. Infected that really refresh the gameplay. Stand out from the rest. Example being, the rumor of clumps of rags descending from the ceiling that were muttered by PK about an incident that occurred with squad 404. Sure, it was with a different vision in mind. "It is cut content" But it could be brought back to warehouse poi's layed about in dlc2. I would like to see different mutations of volatiles with a high emphasis on a more scarier & grounded design. As well as the original gnarl hives being finished & reintroduced back. however more watered down (not affecting the population of infected ofc) The current hives feel kind of rushed. I would like to see those orbs mixed with chemicals & blood brought back. It makes since lore wise with the chemicals being involved.

Also, I know the walls, have a shit ton of chemicals near some of them, but why the fuck aren't any settlements built, you know, on top of some of the walls? or by the Observatory, there is a nice sized patch of woods, that isn't covered in chemicals, it's surronded by chemicals sure, but shit it looks like anyone with a paraglider can glide over there.

That area, could of been used, as a opportunity for some sort of mini settlement sectioned off from villedor, or even used as a spot for the player to build their own came somehow. though you'd need that anti-chemical drug to access it though somehow

First game had better zombie interactions also the zombies are in DL2 far more aggressive and faster too. In DL1 almost passive barely moving. But also more tanky. And the DL2 gore is really fucking good.
