That's more then OK. But all depens what type of player you are, for example i never use the 2H gear at all, if you are much of a fighter try to go only for the brawler gear and then just change the outlook then you will still be scary^^ But other than that NO buying gears is not something you should aim for. In NG+ there is also these red chests where you can find very good gear but i'm not sure if you are NG+. I have been in NG+ for like one hour, i'm always playing in the standard mode so that also depends on stuff in the end
