The way the script seems to be meant to work is that damage output scales between two Damage Stat values. Obviously all the meta weps are well above the max dam threshold

But stuff like pipes dont make the cut, having reduced damage, most severely noticable on throws.

My theory was that Junk Weapons automatically become min damage regardless

But if you are telling me that oar is dealing 120, perhaps that theory is faulty

The damage stat required to deal max damage on a 2H appears to be... 150. 200 is above that.

I suppose if it somehow exceeds that number despite being a Junk Weapon, it'll still have that damage

Fun fact. UV light can completely drain a Hunter's HP, but can not kill him. In fact, once - as a hunter- you hit absolute 0 HP from UV light, since you're no longer technically taking damage, you will heal up to 70 HP even though the uv light was never off you.

Well. Unless you take any other type of damage. At that point even a bleed grenade would kill you, and that deals like 0,012 damage.

Or in other words, if you wanna thoroughly humiliate a hunter, empty their hp in some animation and throw a freeze grenade at 'em

Cant kill NH tho. It'll show the message "killed" if someone dies from, say, poison while being shined, but it's never actually the UV killing them, which I established by whittling a hunter down to 0.00012 or so using copious amounts of bleeding grenades

Easier way to test this is to get a hunter super low, enter a pounce, whack the hell out of him til his hp is empty, then uv him constantly-- he will heal to 70

That works as in weapon range is not decided by how big the model is

Basically crane just swings a trigger zone in the shape of a stick along the screen, the length of which is decided by a weapon's Damage Range in script

the model you see is pretty much just for show.... Though some theorize that it's used in wall collision, I'm not sure about that.

The model -does- seem to matter in throws though.

Khopesh has a DR of 170 and the pipe has 175

not to mention the consecutive hit bonus reducing night walker kills from 4 hit to 1 in certain cases

Okay, so here's the prob. 2h swings only need 150, which the Oar does with its 162. But 2h Throws only deal full damage at 250, which the Oar doesn't match. So Oar swings will deal normal 2h damage, but throws never will.
Additionally, Charge Attacks (Windmill in this case) requires 300 damage from a 2h to deal full hunter damage.

As a survivor you have to track the night hunter at all times, learn when to swap to ranged and melee, always select the proper bolt or arrow with r, dodge spits, tackles, ground pounds, regularly drink night hunter boosters, always swap between grappling hook, uv and flares

You have to use survivor sense literally every 10 seconds as well

Indeed. Bleed and Freeze would have to be somewhere at the very bottom. If you're talking about stuff that has separate kill messages. They deal less than 1 damage per hit, making it really only feasible to do it on a hunter that hit 0 hp in an animation already.

As for individual damage events that the game recognizes as separate, getting killed by the buggy's electric cage blast or flamethrower seems pretty uncommon too. Slide kills then are a little more common.

if you were uv-ing the hunter at the time though, the kill message would simply say "killed"

as the UV light technically deals 0.001 damage per second, but is incapable of killing on its own

There's no elemental/ "status effect" capable of dealing 33% of a hunter's health in even a 1v1. The only thing I can imagine dealing that is a lag-delayed melee hit
