The recent balancing updates have made me play Hunter more often than I used to

Of course currently there's a Super Crane event going on but past that, the game has been in the best state (balance wise) for a long time. Still can get better though, and still is filled with modders, but that's always been an issue

Originally survivors could basically dfa you from a vault

Before they made the turn debuffs it probably was okay to be a hunter with insta tackle and all

Then they reverted that but removed insta so nh was left untouched until autobalance removal

Because indirectly the event and dlc items were op in btz

It started becoming easier only when dlr started getting added

Playing as human will give you the knowledge as to how humans play and what they're capable of

Playing against good players gives u the idea of what survivors can do faster than getting there yourself

But to get the perspective of what works against them you'd have to experience it yourself

It's just that it's hard to know what you look like to them and if you're doing something wrong

Also as human you only really need to focus on the Hunter (nests, virals and bombers also need your attention but only barely). As Hunter, you need to keep an eye on up to 4 humans at once, which is a lot more demanding of your attention.

When you're playing nh and getting annoyed over something or caring too much about dying or losing you get stuck in repeating the only things you trust, which don't actually work because if they did you wouldn't be losing. So try to forget about everything else and just think about what you did and try something different on the next engagement, try different solutions to problems. Try engaging with a different ability or from a different angle or change the patterns you tend to follow. Like missing a tackle and then missing a spit that was meant to punish them for punishing you and then wasting a heal or block to get out of that situation.

Well it really depends on the kind of players you'll encounter. I still get invaded by a lot of hunters that don't know what they're doing

It's easy to develop a mindset where you want to land the first attack because you know the combo afterwards might work, but you keep missing the first one and each time you just come back around and take the gamble whether it will work or not. But the survivor notices you do the same thing and they put all their effort into dodging the first attack because that's the key to whether they win or lose
