I just played against a hunter and I just couldn't do anything. I throw down a flare, they ignore it and pounce me. I use my UV, they ignore it and hit me a couple times then I'm down. I never experienced a match like that before but it was so hard and discourages me from even trying this mode again even though I've had fun with it before. Any suggestions? I have a few hours on it but I'm not sure how to get past things like this

And when I was able to take 2/3 of his health he just ran away as fast as he could. I know this is normal but it's another thing on top of it all that just makes me cringe
