a lot of the people in the matchmaking list leave as soon as it starts because they presumably didn't realise invasions were enabled
I feel like if they bring it back for DL2, they should set it to off by default or give you a prompt on startup whether you want it enabled or not, joining games only for all the humans to leave isn't fun for either party involved.
I avoid joining games where the person is obviously not after invading, like theres on guy with decent ping in my lobby browser who's clearly stuffed turtle farming

the NH also has way more biomass and whatnot in it than regular zombies, a trait shared by volatiles. It also guards volatile nests. Its definitely connected to them in some way. Theres also the Following implication. Any lore conversations about it are a little pointless because its non canon, but in theory it'd be some kind of higher form of volatile.

they will still get hit by the bomber
