They are absolutely essential

Why are my weapons doing less damage than intended in btz? A golden 2 handed should one shot after being thrown and kill after a tackle and a hit. They are not though, the hunter keeps surviving on 1hp. Sometimes they do deal the proper damage but most of the time they do not. Is this a common glitch that I do not know about or...?
