My thing was, by the end i didn't care about winning. The profound message of the cycles of violence had no real effect on me because by the end of the game I really didn't care for either character. Maybe I like Abby a little more, who's to say. But what I do know is despite everything, I as the player would kill her and I really think Ellie would do the same. If the cycles of violence message didn't impact me, and I'm the one who PLAYED both sides then why does it impact Ellie as a character who only LIVED one side?. I don't think it should, and I think there should atleast be a choice

In the end the choice is yours, do you continue the cycle of hate and violence, or do you give yourself some sort of self righteousness by letting her go

That's an interesting decision to give to the player that ayed both characters

he was trying to make it seem like ellie finally accepted what happened to her and wasnt the kind of person that would kill her, even after everything she's done to her, the problem with this is like i said it's just a scheme to try and recover from the last scene in the game

i mean, imagine if the game ended with abby sticking a shiv inside dina and then the credits play

game should've ended with ellie killing / sparing her then show that scene where they're in the farm together

epilogues only work when they actually achieve a strong purpose, like rdr2's for example, tlou2's was just a sorry excuse to try and fix a game that was already buried

He throws it all away to get revenge against Micah and he pays the price for it as it's how the agents tracked him to Beecher's hope for the first game to happen

And he's getting revenge against Micah mainly on Arthur's behalf, a man who doesn't even believe in revenge
