I got so good at pve I would just help any random stranger with any boss in the game like "Let me solo her" except I was just a guy with dragonslayer's greataxe

Played it so much I had learned farming locations for everything in the game and I could sprint through areas knowing step precisely where to stand to dodge map hazards and scripted enemies and how to time your attacks to catch them on the run. I once had started a fresh ng+ and wanted to help someone in Irithyll so I said bet and ran through the seamlessly connected areas from high wall to irithyll in 40 minutes.

All this knowledge and then some subhuman apes start crashing people or corrupting their saves and then a safety exploit is discovered and the servers are shut down now it's all pointless because there's nobody to play with

I would recommend it heavily, I beat the game 4 times. I rarely do that. The gameplay feels super fluid and fun. The story is very good, some parts may need you to play it twice to get the full experience. The exploration is heavily rewarded with items and fun little story/history moments. The characters are memorable to me, the random encounters make me excited to turn every corner. The only part I don't recommend is the online, it's a very sad excuse of a multiplayer mode. It's monetized to try and reduce the grinding. I do love playing with my friends in it though. The gunplay and horse mechanics have been vastly improved from RDR1.

So, I'd recommend it if you've not played it yet.

its very short, the missions are good but u can finish it in an evening or 2 (thats if you find people to play the missions with, you literally need 2 people minimum or u cant play them)

after that its a grindfest to be able to afford one of the roles in the game (bounty hunter, naturalist....), they're pretty expensive as you have to unlock them with gold bars which are a pain in the ass to get

RDR2 online is only fun to fuck around with friends, it's such a grind fest, for normal mission you literally get like 2 dollars

The only profitable missions are ones tied to licenses, which you need gold for, which is incredibly hard to get, even then they're extremely repetitive

the grind is ludicrously long, for example the bounty hunter role is 15 gold bars, you can get like 80 gold nuggets doing missions per hour, 100 nuggets is 1 gold bar
