I wish Dying Light 2 had more parkour moves.

i can attempt to give a general explanation of the overall story and game, by that i mean basically the overall fight/reason for what we are doing
this is gonna hurt to write and will probably be writte like spaghetti but ill give it a shot

the overall fight is between light and dark. Light has the traveller which is the giant orb in the sky in the main hub. This orb creates ghosts which are the things which pop up when you press tab. Ghosts have the power to bring guardians back to life as forever until that said ghost is killed. From my understanding a ghost can only be killed if it is hit by darkness, light or some over powerful god like force of nature (so not normal bullets)
The darkness is basically the opposite of the light (duh) and there isn't a whole lot known about it from my understanding. It travels the universe in giant pyramid ships that seem, for at least the time being pretty dormant. While the light uses tools such as solar,arc and void the darkness uses tools of corruption, manipulation and stasis. The actual face behind the darkness for the time being is unknown and is just referred to as 'the voice in the darkness' which says roughly one line per a dlc.
The factions that work for the darkness/controlled by it are the hive, the vex and im like 90% sure the taken too. They want to wipe out the light while the light wants to wipe them out. There is a lot of controversy between destiny characters wether stasis is evil or wether the user controls wether it is evil or not.
from the dlc shadowkeep until witch queen (the one releasing tomorrow) we have slowly been introduced to the darkness more and more over time and in the newest dlc (beyond light) we even entered one of the pyramid's our self and i believe we did the same in shadowkeep iirc.
The whole 'who leads the darkness' thing is obviously the voice in the darkness but we cant actually see him only hear on occasions, The actual chain of command is worm gods, worms and hive gods. The 3 hive gods are oryx, savathun and xivu arath.
We have killed oryx and his worm (which gives him power) and recently we just killed savathuns worm, she wanted it removed as it was getting too needy and demand full. part 1/2
While trying to kill her worm xivu arath attempted to stop us using her forces but in the end we won. After we removed her worm she ran away and retreated into her own dimension like thing that we are going into in the next dlc. In this dlc she has somehow taken control of the light and can now revive herself as well as all of her army and give them special powers like us too. The whole point of the dlc is to take savathun down and find out how she has taken the light for herself.
Last but not least there is a character introduced in beyond light called the exo stranger, we dont know her name i dont think and she has came from another timeline. She has been to thousands of time line sand every one of them she has been to the darkness won the war of light vs dark because instead of us embracing stasis we just ran from it until it caught up and corrupted us. We as the main character did not do this and we embraced it and defeated its corruption now using the darkness's own tool against it. We are so far the only universe she has found that she believes stands a chance and overcoming the darkness and winning which is now why she is helping us. part 2/2
