Once you find out who the Champions are, you know they have plot armour and literally cannot die because well, they’re the game characters lol. I also feel that because of this we won’t get any “conclusion” to these stories, rather setups and backstories leading to who these characters are now. Some final resolution in the future would be fantastic but idk if Riot is willing to end characters’ lives because of it.

To summarize it, they all were people in the equivalent of ancient egypt in that universe
Nasus and Renekton were brothers, Nasus had brains and Renekton had muscle.
They grew up to lead the entire military of their region until Nasus got old and sick as hell. They had this thing called ascension which was a ritual they performed by harnessing some star power using a giant magical sun disc that was a massive golden disc that floated in place.
Ascended people would gain forms that resembled egyptian gods where they had animal heads and were towering compared to humans.
Nasus was selected for ascension because of his brilliance and he was basically dying to the point Renekton had to carry him up the stairs and what this meant was Renekton would have gotten Sky'ed due to the ascension being meant for Nasus so Renekton would just become dust. He was ready to die for Nasus.
But by some miracle it ascended them both at the same time and they became demigods that live for hundreds of thousands of years

Now for the second part that makes it all so sad
Azir was the son of an emperor in the same place and lived in the same age as Nasus and Renekton
Early in his childhood he became friends with a slave, that slave was called Xerath and Azir's family despised their friendship because it's your typical royal family member befriends bottom of the barrel arc
But his family died and he had to inherit the throne very early on.
As soon as he did he basically promoted Xerath to be his right hand in ruling the empire
They did so for a long time and Nasus and Renekton ascended during his reign
Azir had made a promise to Xerath in his childhood that if he ever became the emperor he would free all the slaves and give them better lives

And during his reign he didn't get to do this, and Xerath started thinking Azir as a betrayer more every day that passed
It got to the point where on the day of Azir's ascension, Xerath ran and pushed him off the stairs and went up there himself
But because the wrong person took the spot it caused everything to collapse and the ritual shat itself and Xerath absorbed so much power he became a literal being of living lightning, in the process the shockwave disintegrated Azir and the entire population of the Shuriman citadel. The whole city was wiped clean of life except for Nasus and Renekton because they were demigods. They rushed to the scene and tried to contain Xerath in some magical sarcophagus but he basically just broke it from the inside and the pieces became part of his body that was otherwise just pure floating energy. He had absorbed so much power it had corrupted him and made him completely insane.
And little did he know, the first thing Azir would've done with his newfound power would've been to fulfill his old promise and free the slaves because he would've been capable of so much more than just orders.
Naxus and Renekton basically decided to drag Xerath to some tomb you couldn't escape from, and they did but because there was no way to seal it with them inside, Renekton told Nasus to seal him inside with Xerath as he held him. Nasus hesitantly at first did so and entombed his brother with a being of pure evil for several thousand years. During all this time Xerath whispered to Renekton constantly in the darkness and completely broke him mentally so that what was left of him was just an insane shell that blames Nasus for everything even though it was Renekton's own sacrifice.

Thousands of years later some explorer who was a member of Azir's bloodline, discovers the sun disc and she gets hurt and her blood dropping on the ritual pedestal activates the whole place which makes something weird happen and Azir reincarnates in his meant-to-be ascended form and the event makes the tomb nearby collapse and open up. Renekton is unsealed with an unimaginable hate for his brother founded on lies that twisted him. They were inseparable but now they'd kill each other. Nasus spent all that time roaming the world and mourning his brother.
While Xerath resurfaces still thinking Azir never upheld his promise and Azir thinking Xerath became a power hungry betrayer. All the people they ever cared for turned into dust aeons ago and their empire was forgotten.
One extra thing is that Azir summons soldiers out of sand in the game. He is basically commanding the ghosts of his lost people, or at least their imitation.

If you have SE, you should've gotten 4 "major" Creation Club mods for free.

Just buy Special Edition if you don't care about Creation Club stuff. You can get mods from other websites and the Steam workshop for free.
