because people dont usually guard with... weapons.

Well, the markers could be the reason, they maybe are using the biomass as fuel

The markers are super advanced technology, they could be able move those giant biomasses with no problems

Well, there are millions of earth like planets discovered by us so far. There's no way the mankind in DS didn't colonize those planets when they had the tech to do so
