While when you make a neo retro game, the use is different, it's somewhat a challenge and nostalgia, as well as a test in optimization, design, code and even electronics. it has its merits

Over the years, many QoL improvements made the game very viable, which it was not so much at the beginning. If it had started with these, it'd have grown much bigger

If you notice, after the second jump, the animation ended a second and a half before reaching the ground. That should be your "tell" that you jumped off of something too high.
