it's nice when unique games stick to what they want in their game, and don't have to add stuff that just doesn't fit nor make sense in the game because REEEasons

I don’t think we should limit games from commenting on current political, philosophical, and ideological issues just because they’re “games”, even if they’re set in universes that are different to ours. This type of commentary doesn’t fit all games and you don’t have to agree with the messages being espoused, but I believe gaming is a incredibly unique art form and it has potential for serious commentary on existential and political issues through a creative lense. Spec Ops the line is a pretty good example of political commentary working, and so is Bioshock. Dues Ex is another great game series that tackles real world issues like trans humanism and economic decline/stratification while being in a Sci-Fi universe with a shit ton of insane conspiracies taking place.

TL;DR games don’t and shouldn’t have to limit themselves to simple stories that are contained to there own universes and have nothing interesting to say. It can be argued that by doing this you’re supporting the current status quo. Just my two cents on it.

well games aren't limiting themselves to being just simple or whatever just because they don't add certain things into their games...

but it can depend on which game and all that

like, we have games that focus on this or that, go nuts with it
but for example, if a game isn't about this or that, don't make it about this or that just because this or that... there are other games that do this or that already

and sometimes some think it's ok to do, only to not realize how it actually is a big nono....
for exmple creating awareness for whatever in Fortnite, (the tomato vending machine was epic btw) they thought it'd be ok etc when it was not...
in Fortnite's case, kids don't care, nor should they be forced to see certain things...
(if one simply raises kids with morals, manners and respect, some issues aren't even a thing, wouldn't be, or would fade and stop being a problem with time...
some problems persist, because people can't stop talking about them, which can keep a problem around for longer
though sadly there are people out there who have a job around "solving" a certain problem, who have a vested interest in keeping a problem around just so their job stays safe instead of finding an actual proper/real job (just talking about some nonsense jobs))

but sure, some stuff can be a message in a game, or even be the main focus of a game because that's simply the way they decide to make that game, but with other games it depends what game, what message etc...

and if some games choose to do it, so be it, but not all games should, some games can just remain games for the sake of gaming...

I’m assuming by “things” you mean political messages. The Black Lives Matter event was incredibly out of place in Fortnite for many reasons, some of those being the following: the game is a MP title that is directed at kids who don’t care in the slightest, the message wasn’t woven cleverly into any overarching narrative or story and was rather hamfisted, and the game has nothing to do with BLM or current political issues even with its lore in mind. When I talk about political messaging it should obviously be left to the SP/CO-OP scene, not competitive multiplayer which isn’t what I’ve been talking about.
