(It's awkward to compare CP2077 to GTA but a perfect example are the police chases from GTA - hell, after you finish the singleplayer story, police chases make up for like 50% of GTA V's gameplay content. Breath of The Wild did well with the massive map by giving you a decent speed that you move in, along with different possible ways to move faster. Along with how they made it so that you practically forget how long it took you to get from point A to point B, simply cause of how great the atmosphere and scenery is. I think Genshin Impact tried to do the same thing, but it just didn't work as well as it did with BoTW
