i have achieved what i thought was impossible

i managed to get 4 screenshots of the player character during gameplay and have them all line up exactly pixel perfect with eachother, and each one is at a different resolution

to see in detail how resolution affects certain details

such as hair rendering. ff7 rebirth has a very particular method for rendering hair, and its affected more drastically than anything else between different resolutions

getting the characters pose to line up exactly took forever lol, they have a very detailed idle animation

and lastly, 1080p,1440p,1620p, and 4k

at 1440p is when the pores in the skin become visible, and it also shows just how much lighting detail is missing when your running at resolutions lower than 4k, as those small details like the pores in the skin and the tiny skin creases around the corners of the eyes are all created from normal maps generated from an insanely high poly source model that physically modeled those details

also the eyelashes, the lower the resolution the clumpier they look, like someone didnt put on their mascara correctly and they just glopped it on

Pretty good, I’ve played it twice through so far and I’ll do a 3rd soon. My first run took close to 20 hours that’s with doing everything but you can speed the game in less than 4 hours. If you play fast an ignore all the extra secrets, puzzles and areas you can finish in 8-10

I haven't played RE9, and I will not read any reviews of it before I do.

Still, RE2 and RE4 are considered to be the best REs, iirc. If we only focus on RE7 and RE8: I do recall regarding them to be hard. I probably died more in RE8. RE7 was scarier, but it had low enemy variety. RE8 had alright enemy variety but it was non-scary and had more action/combat—more like a fantasy shooter rather than horror.

I don't recall how many hours each took.

It’s great, highest selling RE upon release and so far highest rated an for good reason. I love 4 and 7 those stuck with me the most and it combines the both of them quite nicely, it has something from every single RE game so there’s something for everyone it’s a love letter to the fans. I just never bothered to 100% them just because how egregious they can be, 9 is the first one that has bearable trophies that are actually fun and engaging while the other games make you want to pull your hair out.

As you dont unlock the hardest difficulty right of the bat

And while you can do no heals and knife only on it, its best to do it on easy difficulty to have a better time and get the speedrun achievement (do the game under 3 hours)

The key thing to know is not to kill all enemies at once, as they slowly spawn and also spawn when you get to some areas, best to keeep few alive to keep your combo meter alive

My playthrough was 19 hours almost 20

Just depends on how you play, I don’t leave any stones unturned and i only run when I have to otherwise I’m walking everywhere and looking for hidden loot and what not. Only other time I’ll run is if I’m going back and forth for loot runs otherwise I’m walking it’s more immersive I don’t run everywhere in real life so I don’t do it in games either hell even on DL I walk sometimes

It’s about 15 hours if you take your time, if you rush you’ll complete it in less and if you speed run you can do it in less than 4 hours

I rate it a 9.5/10. -.5 because the coloring feels more restricting and boring unlike dltb. But I would prefer to use re9 photomode than dltb photo mode, coming from someone who takes photos a ton in dltb and some really good ones IM GLAZING MYSELF I TAKE GOOD PHOTOS IN DLTB.
