you can also use the surprise attack, and put in some bonus spells attacks before the actul turns start

they emulated irl DND combat pretty well - you have your initiative and do actions. there are class features/skills tht let you do more actions in your round

you can also pre prepare for fight - if enemy is neural until attacked you can for exmple move some explosive barrels near them and initiate combat by blowing them to pieces
